When you receive an offer, do you accept immediately, negotiate terms, or take time to think about it?

I would listen to the terms and possibly negotiate if the original terms are not quite what I am looking for.

Have you ever received an offer and then asked for more money?
If so, how did it go? Did you get it?

Yes, was told I had to wait

I wasn’t told no

You receive an offer, but it's for the bottom of the posted range. What do you do?
Do you accept hoping to get a raise after you prove yourself or do you counter for more?

If I'd known that this matter had to be completed, though not assigned to me, I would have volunteered to get it done.

Have you ever had to walk away from a job offer? What happened?

If I ever walk away, it's usually because of a better offer. However, there was one time where a potential employer didn't mention that I'd have to work weekends until the job offer. Throughout the process, it was understood that the role was scheduled for Monday–Friday until the last possible minute.

Absolutely. I cannot work under management that sees me only as a body to fill a needed role. I won't work in a position that doesn't offer me the opportunity to be fully engaged in my role regardless of the money.

How do you manage multiple job offers?
Imagine this scenario: You receive an offer from one company, but you are hoping for an offer from another company next week. What's the best way to navigate that situation? Should you tell company #1 that you are waiting on another offer?

It's a bit of a catch-22, until I get the second offer from another company, it'll be hard to officially give an answer to the first company. But I think we could negotiate by telling them the truth and let them know you are excellent.

What is the best way to negotiate salary after getting an offer?
Imagine this scenario: You get the offer, but it's less than you were hoping for. You don't want the company to rescind the offer, but you also don't want to leave money on the table. What's the best way to go about this?

@Bill Branstetter, I think I would show nothing but gratitude for the position at first. Then I would be more than I thought I could be when I begin the position, and if, and only if, I felt worthy, I would ask to speak to the one that can increase my wages....

Yes

Took a pay-cut and finally a job offer!!
***UPDATE-SEE UPDATE BELOW ***
After a month of applications the last 2 weeks have been wonderful. I’ve had several interviews, 3 more scheduled and so far 1 job offer. I have feeling I may be offered 1 or 2 more.
I’ve had to be submitted to jobs paying $12,000-$16,000/yr less than what I’ve made in the past. That’s $6-$8/hr less! I guess that’s to be expected after being unemployed for over a year.
What are your thoughts on taking a pay cut to get in the door?
Regardless, I’m feeling blessed.
UPDATEUPDATEUPDATE All interviews went great. I’ve received multiple job offers. 3 offers and expecting 1 more. Could this be leveraged to negotiate my salary? Would you mention the other offers to the each employer?
