Unemployment Benefits and the Coronavirus

Please note: The extra $600 a week in unemployment benefits officially ends on July 31, 2020. This benefit was federally provided and does not directly impact the benefits provided by your state.

Self-employed workers and gig workers to receive unemployment benefits All unemployed workers to receive an extra $600 a week for up to six months Unemployed workers to get an extra 13 weeks of benefits beyond the number a state currently provides Contact your state’s unemployment insurance program for more information and to apply for benefits.

There are a variety of benefit and aid programs to help you if you lose your job. CareerOneStop.org is a good place to start. #MyThoughts

Why is it people feel they need to take advantage of others? We all are given the same tools to succeed, yet they are always a few who try to cheat the system? We are a community who tries to better each other. Sharing advice, jobs and support. Yet a few rotten apples try to steal the pot. Is it really worth taking advantage of people who are dealing with job loss? PersonL issues or just trying to find job. They come to the community for advice, support or guidance on bettering their life. I enjoy reading post of people who obtained a job, built a resume, or ask a question? Helping has always been a part of my life and I am a firm believer in if you do it from the heart it comes back ten fold. A person who helps another and brags about it receives their reward right now? I prefer to wait for the rewards in my afterlife. That’s just me. To read a person got a job, or something worked to better one’s life. That is the best reward in itself. To the people who try to scam, I do not hold onto the past, start today by changing your ways. If you need help ask? This community offers many people who deeply care and willing to help you land a honest job. All you have to do is ask for help? Have you ever thought about what it cost to obtain the assistance people in this community offer? Trust me it is not cheap, yet people are willing to assist you with finding an honest job? Start by building your resume, ask questions? Let the community help you and watch the rewards of the talents this community offers! #workfromhome #interview #coronavirus #hiringevents #healthcare #deliverydriver #jobsearch #ridesharedriver #foodservices #application

Please Be Aware of Paul Gant

He is posting for Car Wraps, please read this? Have you seen ads promising easy money if you shrink-wrap your car — with ads for brands like Monster Energy, Red Bull, or Pepsi? The “company” behind the ads says all you have to do is deposit a check, use part of it to pay a specified shrink-wrap vendor, and drive around like you normally would. But don’t jump onto the bandwagon. It’s only easy money for the scammer who placed the ads.

How you spot the “offer” You might see an ad on a job board or on social media. Or someone might send you a message — maybe because they saw your profile or resume on a job site.

How the scam works The message says you’ll make a couple hundred bucks. But when the “company” sends you a check, it’s for much more than that — a couple thousand dollars. They tell you to deposit the check, keep part of it as your share, and wire the rest to another company that will wrap your car.

Weeks after you wire the money, the check bounces and your bank tells you it was a fake. The money you kept as “your share” disappears, and the money you wired is long gone — no getting it back. On top of that, you’re on the hook for paying your bank back for the fake check. And, of course, no one’s wrapping your car.

How you can tell it’s a scam If you get a message urging you to deposit a check and wire money back, it’s a scam. Every time. No matter the story. And if this were a legitimate car wrap opportunity, wouldn’t the company directly pay the car-wrapping vendor, instead of asking you to do it?

Has this happened to you? File a complaint at ftc.gov/complaint — select Scams and Rip-offs, then Counterfeit Checks. Want to know more? Read our articles to learn how to spot variations on fake checks and money wiring scams.

The person who’s name is on the check signed up and she received this check and before she deposited it, she called me to tell me what they asked her to do. I told her it was a Scam! **This person gave me permission to share this picture. This is a picture of the check they send to her. They said the accounting department made an error. Then told her to go ahead and deposit it and take $600.00 to wrap the car and $100.00 bonus for being honest. *Scam! #workfromhome #interview #hiringevents #coronavirus #deliverydriver #healthcare #ridesharedriver #jobsearch #foodservices #application
