I had a stroke 13 years passing. It was a severe stroke. Harbor Care took me in at the Delanus House on High Street. I lived in this house for 18 months. I had a successful business before I had this stroke. I could not talk, my compatible was harmed. I could not remember 1 day before. I lost everything in my life. Harbor Care applied for a benefit through the V.A. This benefit was enough for me to live basically. Harbor Care has been paying 1/2 my rent every month for 13 years. Harbor Care took it upon themselves to get me a job as a maintenance man with their buildings. Harbor Care knows that I don't talk very much. But they know that I can text and they know that I can understand texts. Harbor Care knows that I have the tools and equipment to do anything in the remolding business. In fact, they have paid for my storage unit to store all of these tools and equipment. 10 by 35-foot storage. I have been working for Harbor Care for 3 years. In 3 years I have bought a manufactured home. I owe everything to Harbor Care. They have been my advocates for 13 years. Believe me, I could not survive without an advocate. PRAISE THESE PEOPLE!

I would tell first time job seekers...
look for initial job in the same field that you see yourself working in 10 years, even if it's in a different dept or company the experience will benefit you more than you realize now.

Everyone can get benefits even part time staff can benefits.

When I worked there for 2 years, I received many compliments and accommodations, yet I applied for FT 6 times and never was. So no benefits, until I quit and went somewhere else. Management was the worst I’ve ever seen. And they hired there buddies for all the FT spots. I would go to Lowe’s. Better pay and almost my entire (THD) store moved to the nearby Lowe’s.

Be careful using your VTO😎 (Voluntary Time Off)
I remember I had this job that offered VTO almost daily to employees. I thought it was the best thing ever🙌🏾. I mean....who wouldn't want to leave work early?! Especially if you have something important to do that day, or you may have finished your work early and think that you deserve to leave early! Don't let the weather be nice (80 degrees ☀️🌈or higher), you know that's heaven to us "Wisconsinites" lol. Everything is sweet until you see that Paycheck 😳😮😮 Your first thought is usually; where is the rest of my money? lol and then it hits you…BOOM.. its all of the Voluntary time you took advantage of🤑 last pay period! Be very careful with visiting angels. They are not in it for the care of individual or caregiver. Their owner messaged me that he wanted to know what the word is on the street. I kindly opened a whole day to meet with him did I hear back NO. Shows exactly what they do. It’s not a stable company and you do not want to go through the process of being investigated when it was company rules you were following. Steer clear of you have been in the industry for a long time. Steer clear.

Well I no longer work there but I worked in the San Marcos office I loved the company only problem was they did not offer any employee benefits of any kind but over all they are a good company to work for. I think they can do better in paying their care givers a bit more money and some benefits as well

I think people quit good jobs because
there may not be any room for advancement or their benefit package isnt good for them
