Retail Sales Associate at The Home Depot

When I worked there for 2 years, I received many compliments and accommodations, yet I applied for FT 6 times and never was. So no benefits, until I quit and went somewhere else. Management was the worst I’ve ever seen. And they hired there buddies for all the FT spots. I would go to Lowe’s. Better pay and almost my entire (THD) store moved to the nearby Lowe’s.

When I worked for Home Depot, almost no-one got benefits because almost no-one was full-time. Almost everybody got capped at at most 27hrs/wk specifically so they wouldn't have to pay benefits. Slower weeks could be down to 6hrs/wk.

Getting a full-time position is a goal that is placed in front of you... "Sweat your butt off and maybe you too can be full-time!" but if you look around the store, there are barely a handful of full-timers.

(Oh, they have a "bonus" that they dangle in front of you if the store meets goals. That super-duper bonus came to about $62 the one time I was there to collect.)
