The Department of Labor and Training for Rhode Island (DLT) runs the state’s Unemployment Insurance (UI) program.

The fastest way to file a claim is online, you can do so here.
By Phone
You can also file for unemployment benefits or get help with your application by calling the TeleClaim Center. Contact them at 401-243-9100 to file a new claim or refile your claim during normal business hours.

Info you need to apply
To apply for unemployment, you need to provide personal information including
-Your Social Security number
-The names, addresses, phone numbers, and dates of employment for all employers where you have worked in the last 18 months.
-The name and local number of your labor union or hiring hall, if applicable.
-Your alien registration number if applicable.
-The names, social security numbers and dates of birth of all dependent children
-Your driver’s license or state issued ID number
-Your bank account and routing number (if you choose direct deposit as your payment option).
