My advice to people interested in working at #Walmart ...
I started with Walmart in 1980 and was there 38 years. Back in the days I started it was a great place to work. They cared a lot about the family aspect of your life. When Mr Sam passed away and it was left to his kids it went sideways because it was all about the money then. The main reason I retired was because they started downsizing within the company and adding more jobs to my job. Not just me but everyone. At the end I was doing four people's job and couldn't keep up with them. Always picking out that I didn't do this or that correctly and they wouldn't let you have overtime to do it correctly. It got really stressful and crazy and not family oriented anymore. Very unkind management and they picked at the long term employees to the point that you wanted to leave. It's like they were taught to get rid of the older employees because we cost them too much time and effort. Not a good full time work place anymore. Part time? Maybe.

What do you think is the BEST way to calm my nerves before an interview at Walmart?

Normal Day: Smooth

Christmas: Really Busy
Black Friday: Chaos!!!!!!

What I loved about working at #Walmart was
Absolutely Nothing. Disrespect from management. Low pay for all they expect you to do and company has gone downhill. You are NOT family there only a number to them. They act all nicey nicey when hired and then a week later nasty. They cater to the younger people so afraid to hurt their feelings and treat older associates like crap. It's sad to see how far down your company has gone.

What are Walmart's Federal Holiday Hours?
I know I ask A LOT of questions on here daily, but are Walmart calling hours closed during federal holidays, such as this? I've been meaning to call them recently to schedule an interview or something with them, but school's gotten in the way of that. Thanks! Have a good Labor Day! :D #walmart #advice #interview #wordsofadvice

Walmart stores idk but Walmart DC phone lines are always open 24 hours I’ve worked for Walmart

If you're talking about the corporate side of Walmart, it's possible, but unlikely, that no one is there to take your call. Now, if you are talking about the store or warehouse, they are open daily. That includes all holidays. Some are even open 24/7.

Does Walmart do Drug Tests and Background History?
Don't take that question the wrong way, people! I ain't no drug addict or something like that, you know? I've never gotten in trouble with the police or anything, but I just want to get a heads up on this, please! Again, I'm cleaner (and always will be) than a shiny pearl under the deep blue sea. I got nothing to hide, I'm just wanting some advice. Do they poke needles into you when Walmart do drug tests? If so, should I tell them that I shake even at a glimpse of a needle (don't judge me for that, people! Yeah, I tremble just at the sight of a needle, so what? Got a problem with that? If so, comment, because I'd love to hear what you'd have to say)?

Okay

Job Case you just sorted through all of the crazy comments and didn't remove this post? So what a fabulous idea that was, so let's just set up more and more of the amateur doctors that will show back up on here and post the insane comments? Seriously?
Take a deep breath, and realize that you are just talking to someone that wants to know who you are. Talk to them like you were talking to your best friend and that you are interested in what they are saying. Ask them how long they have worked there?
