I worked for Walgreens for 15 years. When I left I had worked my way up to ASM. I left for a opportunity as manager for a small store. It just didn't work out. I'm looking to go back as a ASM. I have the experience and left on good terms.

Uber offers FREE rides to vaccination sites

Need a ride to get a vaccine? Uber (and Lyft) have you covered!

Did you know that 45% of Americans do not have access to public transportation at this time?

In an effort to help those who wish to get vaccinated Uber said last week that it has partnered with retail pharmacy chain Walgreens to offer FREE transportation to its locations and offsite vaccination clinics in cities such as Houston, Chicago, Atlanta and more!

The initiative comes after Uber pledged in December to offer 10 million free or discounted rides to assure that “transportation is not a barrier to getting the [Covid-19] vaccine.”

Uber partners with a number of health systems, Medicaid, and Medicare Advantage plans to move their 65+ members. These health care organizations can call, schedule, and pay for rides to vaccine appointments on behalf of their patients and those covered by government health programs, adding that riders do not need an app or a smartphone.

Walgreens, CVS hiring thousands of workers!

Walgreens, CVS hiring thousands of workers to help with vaccine distribution.

Walgreens has approximately 25,000 open positions to fill immediately and CVS is looking to hire tens of thousands of health care workers in order to be ready for the surge in patients seeking a vaccination.

The company even notified its customers in an email that it was "urgently hiring thousands of qualified pharmacists, nurses and pharmacy technicians" and encouraged customers to forward the email on to any "qualified applicants." - read more

Both companies are working quickly to be prepared for when the Food and Drug Administration issues a decision, which is likely to come in the next few days now that Pfizer and BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine was confirmed to be strongly protective against the virus.

Recommendation for part time or full time work

I've seen some posts from people needing to fill in employment gaps, or just needing work. I highly recommend Walgreens. I have worked there part time for 6 months and it is a great company. I actually like it better than my full time job and I hate the thought of quitting it when I accept the offer for the position for which I've been interviewing (I got a call from HR yesterday and I should be getting the offer letter next week! ) but Walgreens has great benefits even for part time employees and who knows, it could lead to a career in retail for someone.
