Certified Medication Aides needed in Huntsville TX!
The Certified Medication Aide role is to assist the licensed nurse (RN or LPN/LVN) in administering prescribed medications and completing other delegated tasks as assigned at a Texas Corrections facility
**These roles are temporary, starting 2/21/22 and ending 5/20/22
Schedule 5:45am - 6:15pm, 4 days week and 5:45pm to 6:15 am, 6 days week.
Pay rate: hourly market rates
Responsibilities:
•Dispense oral, inhalation and topical medications to patients under direct supervision of a licensed nurse
•Observe patients for drug reactions and report any problems to the nurses.
• Performing tasks associated with medication administration, including patient vital signs, calculate medication dosages and stock the medication cart.
• Recording medication administration according to agency procedure
• Plus additional duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
At least 1 year of healthcare experience as a medication aide
Valid Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification/license)
Clinical documentation experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/license
Proofreading and editing skills.
