Did you know the Social Security Administration offers a path back to work without immediately losing your benefits?

The Ticket to Work program is designed for people receiving SSI or SSDI who want to explore employment opportunities while maintaining access to essential supports like health coverage.

✅ Free & voluntary program ✅ Career counseling, job placement, and vocational training ✅ Keeps critical safety nets in place while you transition to work ✅ Encourages financial independence and career growth

For many individuals with disabilities, the Ticket to Work program is a stepping stone toward meaningful employment, greater independence, and financial security.

💡 If you—or someone you know—are receiving Social Security disability benefits and want to return to work, this program could open the right doors.

Need a job that doesn't pay too much?

I need a part time, work from home job that does not exceed the Social Security Disability (SSDI) limits (SGA - Substantial Gainful Activity) which is $1350 per month and cannot exceed 20 hours per week. This means that at the max of 20 hours per week, I cannot receive minimum wage - which is fine with me. I am open to anything from Data Entry to Customer Service as long as the employer can accommodate the SSDI limits. Actually, I wouldn't mind working a little more than that as long as my W4 does not reflect that - because the SSDI limits are stupid. I got furloughed (then laid off) at my last job and the $300 per week of extra unemployment really helped us. Now we really need my piss-poor wage that Social Security allows me to keep our house, etc. Please help me out.

General Laborer at Labor Systems

I know there are others that are in the same boat. And I also know that employers need to cover the hours to full fill there orders. I’m going to try and convince company’s that hiring 2 people produces the same benefit's. They don’t need to provide medical insurance Medicare provides that. We are not eligible for unemployment because of disability payments. And there are tax credits for hiring people who are disabled. And the work ethic’s from our generation are strong. Any way just a thought, I wish you luck on your journey.
