Job scams

Is this a careerbuilder site? I had applied to like 13 jobs or something at 1 time. I started getting respones from what i thought was employers through text messaging. So this company had me to download a app called telegram. I did and done an interview. They hired me and the next moring i had a fed ex package. It was from them and it was a check for almost 5000.00. Then they wanted me to deposit it into my bank account. I called the bank on the check and it was a comprised account. I could have been in alot of trouble for this. So im not to sure about using careerbuilders site. Im trying to get a second job not go to jail. #scams

Email scams?

I'm looking for work in a small-ish Georgia town and I keep getting tons of emails from job promotion websites or services and some of them say "2nd Notice You have been accepted to ... Schedule your interview?" But I don't know what the job is and I do not remember applying to so many unspecific ones, and the email just gives me a link and honestly I don't even open the link because I've been taught not to trust stuff like that- what do I do??? #advice #interview #scams #followup #jobsearch #wordsofadvice # #

What to do about my locked and hacked DEO account ?

My account was hacked and my funds were sent to another bank (fraud). My account is locked now. DEO has Not unlock it. It going on 4 months now. The hackers took over $2,000, what do i need to do to get this resolved? Also, I still have an account on record but I don’t need DEO anymore. I need them to close my account out and find the hackers and get the money back. I don’t need them it or them anymore? #scams

I been working for three years same company they called me and said I had to call unemployment cause . Unemployment called them saying I filed for unemployment when I didn't. So had to call unemployment and tell them it's not me. So they put a Red flag on the claim. For Fraud #scams #unemployment

Do you think you'd know a job scam if you saw it?

Here's what the FTC recommends to avoid a job scam:

  • Don't pay for the promise of a job
  • Do your own research
  • Take your time
  • Don't send money "back" to your new boss

Share your tips in the comments below, and be sure to visit the Jobcase resource center to Avoid Job Scams

Also, if your email is included with your resume in a job search database but they refuse to email you from an official account. I've had several of these scams attempted on me.
