Is it wise to sign a position offer when you aren't told where you will be placed until after you have committed?? I have been through 3 interviews with a company that posted a position close to home. Now as I got closer to being hired, I'm finding out through someone I know within the company that I could be sent much, much farther than I prefer. But I truly won't know until I sign offer and hear from Manager. A friend within told me just suggest that I would prefer to be working at sites within my area...but he also said, regardless of location job posting said... be prepared to be sent to much farther because location because they are in much more in need of help there. Is this alright?? Don't I have the right to mention to Manager, if I am sent farther, that the job position was posted for closer location, and that is what I had in mind when I applied. Or will that have really bad repercussions??

I applied at a company that was closer to home. When I read the job posting the hiring pay range was 15.25 - mid19.91, which through my experience I thought that I would be offered higher amount. And it wouldn’t be such a pay cut if they offered the mid 19.81.

I got through two interviews and they finally gave me a job offer. I was so excited but they gave me a low ball number at min 15.29

I talked to the person who sent me the offer and asked if they could offer a higher pay based on my experience that I am not entry level. They said it HR budgeted this position for 15.29 but there are a lot of other perks. I am wondering

  1. Why was there a pay range on the posting if they we only willing to start off at the lowest even with someone with a lot of experience and two does anyone have any advice on how to send a nice counter offer email. The offer is just to low to take a 10 pay cut from where I am working. I ran all the numbers and however I would be struggling every month. I don’t want to reject the offer but I just won’t be able to afford a 10 pay cut so I want to ask for at least 18.00
