It depends on position and store or corporate as those are two different worlds
I’ve been building my resume by volunteering to multiple events just to gain some experience, only to be shot down. Last September, I applied for a special event position at parks and recreation nearby and I had to wait for god knows how long. When I got to the interview, it was going fine at first and after that the interviewer said it would about 2 weeks before confirmation. It had been about 4 weeks. 4 WEEKS. She haven’t called me back so I went to the office. We called nonstop, but I was frustrated and I went home. She called me back and told me she was in a meeting and that there were delays. IDK what was happening. She then told me it would take 3 days for the decision.
2 days later, I got an email saying despite my skills and experience, they were not going to continue with me.
I was ANGRY. And depressed. What did I do wrong? I have been trying. This just makes the notion that I’m not good enough.
I just made me feel like burning the whole world down.
It's best to follow up within a week after your interview with Dollar Tree. Send a polite email expressing your interest and inquiring about the status of your application. Yes, I was taught to send a thank you message when in my Business Resource Management classes. The person they chose might not 5 out, and you're the only one that thanked them for their time! :)
