Inktober 2018

Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #drooling. When I was a teenager my family had a #dog who was part-Labrador Retriever and part-Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Napoleon. Like all dogs Napoleon was into begging for people food while leaving his own dog food uneaten. (He would eventually get around to eating his own food but he preferred what people were eating.) He would stoop to begging where he would cast the saddest eyes he could muster. If he didn’t get what he wanted, the next step was to stick his tongue out, start panting, and begin drooling. The longer he drooled, the more foamy his mouth got and a small puddle would start to form around him. His mouth would get so foamy that it looked like he had rabies. (He always got his rabies shot every year.) That tactic was especially effective when my parents had guests over and his drooling would gross out the guests so much that they gave in and gave him what they were eating. #Inktober2018 #drawing

Inktober 2018

Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #double. This was yet another prompt that I had a hard time dealing with. The only thing I could think of was those ads for #Doublemint #gum featuring identical #twins. Through the Wikipedia I learned that 21-year-old Jayne and Joan Boyd were the first set of twins who appeared in Doublemint’s television ads way back in 1959. (They were born Jayne and Joan Knoerzer but used their mother’s maiden name professionally.) So I drew those twins. By the way, they were spokespersons for Doublemint until 1963 when Joan became pregnant. Over the years other twins have shown up in TV ads representing Doublemint gum. #drawing #Inktober2018

Inktober 2018

Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #flowing. I’ll admit that I struggled a bit with that prompt until I remembered the Scottish princess #Merida and her long, flowing, curly red hair from the #Disney #Pixar movie #Brave. I have a Merida doll that I purchased from the Disney Store a few years ago so I decided to use it as a model. I had laid the doll down flat on her back while I was gathering my pencil, eraser, and sketchbook and I noticed that the way that her hair was spread out looked pretty cool. So I shot a picture of the doll with my smartphone and I did my #drawing based on that photograph. #Inktober2018

Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #exhausted. I’ll admit that I struggled a bit with that prompt until I decided to draw a scene from the #Disney #animation classic #SleepingBeauty. There are times when I get so tired that I could easily fall into a deep sleep like that. #Inktober2018 #drawing

The 12 Drawings of Christmas Day 2

I was inspired to draw #Bruni from #Frozen2 after I saw huge lines forming at the local AMC Theater to see that movie and I saw pictures of the #cute #salamander that were posted online. I couldn’t resist drawing him. I ended up seeing the movie myself on the morning of Thanksgiving Day. #ink #drawing #Disney #FrozenII #12DrawingsOfChristmas #TwelveDrawingsOfChristmas #sbpprocess

Inktober 2019 Day 18

For today’s Inktober drawing I decided to use today’s prompt word that’s on Cheese Wizards’ Fantasy Inktober that was put online by the Instagram users thorsini and cheesewizardsart. Today’s prompt word is beast so I drew the Beast from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast using this tutorial that’s posted on WikiHow. #Inktober #Inktober2019 #ink #drawing #Beast #BeautyAndTheBeast #Disney #cwinktober

Inktober 2019 Day 22

For today’s Inktober drawing I decided to use today’s prompt word that’s on a prompt list that was created by the Instagram user pivoineink. Today’s word is “Valkyrie.” I immediately thought about the superhero character in the Marvel comics, who is based on the Valkyries of Norse mythology. I did a Google search on the comic book character and discovered that Valkyrie has appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and she is played by an African American actress. (I haven’t watched too many movies in recent years due to tight finances. I’ve only seen two MCU movies: “The Black Panther” and the first “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie.) Since Norse mythology have traditionally portrayed the Valkyries as a group of goddesses, I thought it be okay to draw both versions. #Inktober #Inktober2019 #ink #drawing #pivoineinktober #Marvel #NorseMythology #Norse #Valkyrie #Valkyries #MarvelComics #MarvelCinematicUniverse #MCU

Inktober 2019 Day 19

For today’s Inktober drawing I decided to use today’s prompt word that’s on the Inktober Sweets prompt list that was put online by the Instagram user merpunks. Today’s prompt word is ice cream so I drew this ice cream cone based on a photo I took at a local Carvel’s when I went there on October 2. (That was the day when temperatures surged into the mid-90’s with high humidity. It was definitely unseasonably hot.) I ordered a chocolate-vanilla twist cone. #Inktober #Inktober2019 #ink #drawing #icecream #Carvels #InktoberSweets
