I'm 59 swm and semi retired. I went back to work to get off my ass and I lost 35 lbs . The work ethic today is so poor and people just don't care . Yet those that work hard and show up on time and don't call out get the same pay as the other.. What is the benefit of working for a company or corporation that doesn't care about the good employees?? They see us as all one in the same ..Now is the slow time ,sales fall in the winter but come spring they more than double.. I can only make so much, but I know for a fact I can make the store and much better place .. I just lost the edge and effort to do so. Corporation only care about #s and $$$$__... Not the people. I did some thinking on building a better cover letter after looking over previous ones I have been using. Didn't like the way they were written out and couldn't figure out where I was going wrong until looking at something then it started to make sense what I was doing. I needed to focus more on a discussion of what I could offer the hiring manager and how I could benefit their team with my skills. What helped me wasn't a template interestingly enough. What actually gave me ideas to build with including adding on the skills for the job being applied is a website I found from Career Builder that I would like to share. Make sure that whatever you do, whether it is your dream job or a stepping stone to your dream job, always enjoy what you’re doing.
By enjoying what you do, you’ll never feel you’re working a single minute, and it gives you the confidence to do better in your work.

Say yes to the things that scare you. Constantly challenge yourself and allow yourself to become better and learn new things.
