So last year Nov 2018 I applied to my first welding job since getting my certification earlier that year. They hired me but told me I wasn’t going to be welding I only was going to help build the company first, since it was just starting. Then I would start welding once the company is build. I agreed to the terms. My first day working was excellent no complaints but as weeks passed. I went from helping build the company to sweeping floors everyday which was hard. Yeah I know who would of thought sweeping would be hard. It’s a building with metal everywhere. So there’s a lot of dust. The manager would say to me a couple of times to stop “standing around and walking”. But who wants to sweep metal shards everyday, with no face mask When you said I would help build the company. It may seem easy but trust me it’s a big building. Whenever I finished sweeping they gave me another cleaning job to do. I’ve never seen anyone that was working there clean except for me. The manager went from being nice to being rude. He would yell at me at times. He was the second in charge and he just got the position. I guess he was abusing his authority. But it still doesn’t give you a right to talk to me in any kind of way. I felt like he was discriminating. No one was treated the way I was treated. Even the employees noticed how he talked to me. I need advice should I take this to court or just let it go?
