Head Waitress at Bongo Room

A good place to start would be fast food/mom and pop stores in your city!

I'm 17, going to be 18 in a less than 2 months, I'm really looking for a job near home.. I've put in atleast 5 applications near me.. an I haven't gotten a single response yet.. I seen this one post about clients ghosting the applications sent through, even though they're looking for employees that are in financial requestment, and are needing a job, but are being ignored.. That goes for me.. I'm planning to move out into a small apartment for myself.. But it's hard.. #advice #teenjobs #wordsofadvice

Does anyone know where a 15 year old with no work experience can get a job in California other than fast food?

#jobsearch #teenjobs #advice #education My resume consists of my history in school and the fact that I’m graduating March of 2023 at 16. I am readily available to be CPR certified and would like to be certified anyways; I think I’d like babysitting but I have no idea how to actually get the job. Any advice would be deeply appreciated!!

Hi Michael,

unfortunately, you will be hard-pressed to find an employer that will hire a 13-year-old employee. Fast food places typically start at 15 or 16. If you are still in school you may need a work permit as well depending on your state. You will want to check with your guidance counselor at school to see if they can provide you with more information on that.

However, that doesn't mean you can' earn money. Lots of young people are making money taking on tasks in their neighborhood.

Offer services such as lawn mowing, dog walking, and car washing. You will want to ensure that you show up and do a fantastic job so that more people recommend you and continue to use your services.

Ask your parents to create a profile for you on nextdoor.com. It is a neighborhood app where you can post to your neighbors all the things you can do to help them. They can also share reviews of your work and suggest you to other neighbors.

Good luck!
