I've learned that when you are a part of a team, things go much better when you work with each other and communicate than when you're backstabbing and trying to gain height by standing on another's shoulders.

It's good to make friends, personal friends, at work. We are more willing to help a friend who is having trouble with a client or who is temporarily unable to do his share of the work. Also, it's easier to be told by a friend that you need to step it up a bit, if necessary. They know what your capabilities are and won't lie to you and tell you can do better when they know you can't.

I think i'm paranoid...but im probably right.

I work in inside sales and account management so I generally get a bunch of customer calls a day. Its generally a pretty positive experience since the customers are usually reasonable. Once in a while I might get a jerk but that's pretty rare. This changed recently though.

Recently, when I started applying for other inside sales jobs and going into interviews that seem like i would be perfectly suited for the position. Which is fantastic but, I started getting A LOT more aggressive customer calls. Oftentimes, the customers will call in angrily demanding product right away with crazy quality requests. As the day goes by the demands get ever increasingly more complicated requiring a lot of math.

Then all of of a sudden the customers stop. And then I recieve an email form the companies I applied for. All of them stating "we really like you but we dont feel that you are a right fit."

So here is my conspiracy theory...I believe these companies are screening me by contacting me at work to see how I could work under a stressful situation. I know it sounds crazy but my intuition is never wrong.

What do you guys think? Have any of you had similar experiences?

Let me know K

Enterprise Sales Professional

What I love about Sales is building relationships and helping to solve the needs of my clients. Through building strong relationships, it allows the company that I represent to build strong retention and long with lasting relationships. I strive hard to be honest and ethical. And along those lines, to represent myself, my company , and my family with the upmost integrity that I can.
