8 Rules to avoid accidents on a forklift

If you’re applying for a forklift position, safety is the number 1 priority hiring managers love to hear. But it should also be you’re number 1 priority to get you and your coworkers back home in one piece to your family.

I’ve been hired on the spot countless times because I have extensive knowledge on best safe practices and OSHA regulations in a warehouse. When I ever got a walk-thru of the facility, I would point out what’s safe and what’s not safe and management would be impressed. Here’s a quick video on forklift safety.

Acknowledge and celebrate even the smallest accomplishments along the way

If you're looking to earn more money as a packer, here are a few suggestions:

  1. Improve your efficiency: Look for ways to optimize your packing process and increase productivity. This could include organizing your workspace, streamlining packaging methods, or using tools that can help speed up the process.
  2. Learn new skills: Consider expanding your skillset by learning additional tasks related to packing, such as quality control or inventory management. The more versatile you are, the more valuable you become to employers.
  3. Seek opportunities for advancement: Talk to your supervisor or manager about potential opportunities for growth within the company. Express your interest in taking on additional responsibilities or moving into higher-paying roles within the packing department.
  4. Explore job openings at other companies: If there aren't many advancement opportunities at your current workplace, consider looking for packer positions at other companies that offer better pay and benefits.
  5. Consider freelancing or side gigs: Depending on where you live and what regulations allow, you may be able to take on freelance packing jobs outside of regular working hours to supplement your income. Remember that earning more money often requires dedication, hard work, and continuous improvement in skills and performance. Good luck!
