What’s the best thing a coworker did for you?
Today, I walked in and said “woof I’m exhausted.”
Came back to my desk after a meeting to this… thank you @Yiming Shuang #coworker #workhelp

Thanks you to our Veterans and their families!
I love that we as a nation pause to acknowledge our pride, debt and gratitude to our awesome Veterans. Saluting and appreciating all of you who have put yourself in harms way, or threat thereof, to preserve our freedoms. But this year we can do more than salute. We can help right a wrong. Did you know the GI Bill - a powerhouse piece of legislation that really helped create our middle class - basically excluded Veterans of color in its application? Once you learn that you get pretty upset - no matter your political leanings. Returning vets should get same benefits no matter their color of course. Well, there is a piece of legislation now in Congress trying to address this wrong. You can learn a bit about it here. And then, I encourage you to call your reps and leave a msg of support. You can find their contact info through this link: https://lnkd.in/etiD9nKy
Our veterans deserve our support. Some have received more than others. They all have deserved it. Lets correct a wrong and keep striving to help our veterans who have so valiantly earned it.
honorable veterans day thank you to all who served, and their families who have supported them. #veteransupport #StrongerTogether #USA

I have been looking for work since mid September and finally got one. Hurray!!

I AM BACK TO WORK THIS FRIDAY!
The present company that I am laid off from, just made some office managerial changes, for the better of the company as well as the employees within it! I am re-instated both medical & dental and will be back 9am to 4pm., Monday thru Friday, with a test run this Friday with a new client for home health care. I had to pass on 2 other job offers because I have 13 years in with the present company that I work for and over 20,000 hours service, so I am capped out in salary range as well as a pension and funeral costs too. The managerial changes was a gift from God! Sometimes the good lord gives you what you need and not what you were expecting! #healthcare

I've been job hunting at 65 for months. I thought I'd never get hired because of my age, despite a strong resume. I was finally offered a position today! I'm very excited to start this new chapter in a new state, city, apartment and a job. Keep plugging along, send those resumes out and do what you can to emphasize your excellent skills and experience. #jobsearch #hiringnews

Home Depot is Hiring!
Applied and received a job offer in 2 days. I just went to their website and filled everything out, they sent an assessment.... Which was about 10 minutes to complete and next day I got the job offer. Super easy and the benefits and pay are better than average with profit sharing and flexible hours and discounted stock purchases . If anyone is looking I would check it out. This will be my second job and I plan to work there part time. If it grows to something bigger than that would be great too! #jobsearch

2 examples why you can't let #ageism stop you from your next job
Reports of ageism have gone up massively since covid changed "normal life" for everyone. And we see how age discrimination effects people everyday in this community.
That's why I want to take this moment to celebrate the Jobcase community - and these 2 success stories:
@Dinah Junek "I'm sure there are places that don't hire older ones. You know what I say it's their loss!! Keep trying #advice"

New job at 61- dont stop trying
I kept reading and hearing how it was going to be difficult to get a job in IT at 61. Especially when i was looking for something geared more for the PC side and not Infrastructure side....that Id be too over qualified as well. Well - after 37 years in IT/networking my last company of 15 years outsourced our team over seas. I took a few months to look around, apply and then hit it hard. I was offered a job yesterday that fits what I'm looking for and pay nearly what I made prior. So dont feed into the negativity. Create a plan- refine your resume, search for work and stop believing that negative stuff. If you are hire-able you will get opportunities. If you are not hire-able then put a goal and plan together to make yourself hire -able. You'll feel better for doing it.
