I've driven for 40 plus years. Clean driving record, have also had several jobs where driving and delivery were major parts of my work. Have driven pharmacy delivery, newspaper delivery, and for a pizza franchise. Enjoy driving and interacting with people.

Hotshot Driver Equipment Transport at Independent Contract Driving Experience

One of the most common mistakes people make with a forklift is failing to follow basic safety procedures. Operators often drive too fast, carry loads too high off the ground, overload the forklift beyond its rated capacity, or fail to check blind spots when turning or backing up. Another common issue is improper load placement, which can cause tipping hazards or dropped materials. Performing pre-operation inspections and maintaining awareness of surroundings are critical to preventing accidents and ensuring safe operation.”

Advancing as a Retail Merchandiser typically involves developing stronger leadership, sales, inventory, visual presentation, and operational management skills. Many successful retail managers and district leaders begin in merchandising or stocking positions and advance through consistency, initiative, and strong performance.

Professional advice for advancing your career as a Retail Merchandiser includes:

Strengthen Product Presentation Skills Employers highly value merchandisers who understand: • Visual merchandising • Store layout optimization • Product placement strategies • Promotional displays • Inventory rotation and organization

Strong merchandising directly impacts customer engagement and sales performance.

Learn Inventory & Retail Operations Expanding your knowledge in: • Inventory control • Stock management • Planograms • Pricing accuracy • Loss prevention • Supply chain operations

can position you for supervisory or management opportunities.

Develop Leadership Skills If you want advancement, begin demonstrating leadership before receiving a title by: • Assisting coworkers • Training new employees • Volunteering for additional responsibilities • Solving operational problems proactively • Supporting managers during busy periods Improve Technology & Reporting Skills Many retail companies now rely heavily on: • Inventory systems • Mobile merchandising apps • Sales tracking tools • Reporting software • Digital audits and compliance systems

Candidates who adapt well to technology often advance faster.

Focus on Reliability & Performance Retail employers consistently promote individuals who demonstrate: • Strong attendance • Dependability • Flexibility with scheduling • Ability to meet deadlines • Positive attitude and teamwork Seek Cross-Training Opportunities Learning multiple departments can increase promotion potential, including: • Inventory/Receiving • Sales Floor Operations • Customer Service • Pricing & Signage • Store Operations • Vendor Coordination Consider Advancement Paths Retail Merchandisers often move into positions such as: • Lead Merchandiser • Visual Merchandising Specialist • Inventory Coordinator • Retail Supervisor • Assistant Store Manager • Store Manager • District Merchandising Manager Update Your Resume Regularly Document accomplishments such as: • Increased sales performance • Improved inventory accuracy • Successful store resets • Merchandising compliance scores • Leadership contributions

Employers look for measurable results and initiative.

Most importantly, approach merchandising as more than stocking shelves. Strong merchandisers understand customer behavior, store presentation, operational efficiency, and sales strategy — all of which can create strong long-term career growth opportunities in retail management and operations.

Interviewing Tips

Job Interview Tips That Can Help You Stand Out 🌟

Job interviews can feel intimidating, but preparation gives you confidence. Here are a few tips that have helped me and may help someone else:

✅ Research the company before the interview Know what they do, who they serve, and why the role matters. Even a few solid details can help you sound prepared and interested.

✅ Practice your “Tell me about yourself” answer Keep it focused on your experience, strengths, and why you are a good fit for the role.

✅ Use real examples Instead of saying, “I’m a hard worker,” share a quick story that shows how you solved a problem, hit a goal, handled customers, or learned something quickly.

✅ Ask thoughtful questions Good questions show that you are serious. Ask about training, team goals, expectations, company culture, and what success looks like in the role.

✅ Follow up after the interview A short thank-you message can leave a strong impression. Mention something specific from the conversation and express your continued interest.

✅ Stay encouraged Every interview is practice. Even if one door closes, another one can open. Don’t let rejection make you forget your value.

Sometimes the opportunity is not just about being the “perfect” candidate. It is about showing that you are prepared, coachable, professional, and ready to bring value.

Keep going. Your next yes could be closer than you think. 💼✨

Data entry and transcription work are good starting points since they are straightforward, flexible and most platforms do not run background checks. Sites like Rev, TranscribeMe and Clickworker let you work at your own pace from home which is important given your health needs. Freelance platforms like Fiverr or Upwork are also worth exploring for simple tasks like copy paste work, basic research or virtual assistance since you are essentially working for yourself there. The felony being non violent and older also helps more than people realize since a lot of remote gig based work simply does not ask.
