Companies can ask for a drug test to be taken as a reminder on the application or on the job site. There are many types of jobs that are required to have a drug test taken because of the type activity that is performed every day.

Does Walmart do Drug Tests and Background History?
Don't take that question the wrong way, people! I ain't no drug addict or something like that, you know? I've never gotten in trouble with the police or anything, but I just want to get a heads up on this, please! Again, I'm cleaner (and always will be) than a shiny pearl under the deep blue sea. I got nothing to hide, I'm just wanting some advice. Do they poke needles into you when Walmart do drug tests? If so, should I tell them that I shake even at a glimpse of a needle (don't judge me for that, people! Yeah, I tremble just at the sight of a needle, so what? Got a problem with that? If so, comment, because I'd love to hear what you'd have to say)?

Cannabis Testing in New York State?
https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/LAB/201-D From my understanding of the new labor laws in NY state(Oct 21st, 2021), an employer can include cannabis on a drug test panel but the employer CANNOT use a positive cannabis test result as a hiring decision unless it is a federal or DOT position(with a few exceptions far and in between). This is because cannabis is a legal consumable product in NY, just like alcohol. Upon further research, these new labor laws for NYS even protect positions that require licenses, certifications, or degrees. With that being said, I don't understand how it is legal to be turned down for an assistant store manager position solely based on a positive cannabis result. The drug testing facility called to inform me of the positive cannabis result and asked if there was a medical Marijuana card and I explained that there wasn't one because it has been legal for over a year and a half and the laws now protect employees. The facility said the results would be sent with the next 2 hours. Immediately after speaking to the testing facility, I called the hiring manager(the store manager who was new to his position and the company (he was also an old coworker)), and informed him of the situation and results. He was not even aware they tested for cannabis and said he'd look into it. He called many people up the chain. He called back and informed me that the position was no longer being offered due to the positive cannabis result. He also said that the company would most likely be changing its policy in the near future. The background check had already come back and the only thing they were waiting on was the drug test results. About 2.5 hours later(very shortly after the time that the testing facility said the employer would receive the results) a contract was sent out after they received the drug test results(everything was negative except for cannabis). When I received the contract in my email, I reached out to the hiring manager explaining they sent me the contract and maybe HR was already aware of the laws put in place pertaining to cannabis use outside of the workplace. He reached out to HR and told me the same thing as before, the position is no longer being offered due to the positive cannabis result. At this point I wrote a long email to the HR department asking for an explanation as to why their company was an exception to this law. I have yet to hear anything back. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about this situation? Thank you in advance! P.S. negative comments need not waste their time.

May have lost my drug test???
So I got hired for this company and I was required to do a hair follicle drug test where they cut my hair. So I took the test a week ago Monday and today they call me and say the company that did my test doesn't show they have my results or that I came in??? WTH?? Good thin I got a copy of what I signed. So I sent a copy to the lady who called me. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Am I going to have to do this again? I dont want to cut my hair again! If so can I request a pee test instead? Do I have rights??

Like....what just happened
So...I was working at New job had been there 5-6 months when one me and two other guys got sent for random drug test at the clinic ...Note the guys that got sent with me where both Managers....well we went and took the Dt..the next week got results everything was all normal...for everybody....so continued on working.....I seemed to be moving up the ladder fairly quick...actually kinda jumped together two guys who had been there awhile...well one the guys didn't like that at all.....so forward a month or two From There...I received a injury at work that was causing. Severe pain...neck..head...shoulder drawing up....I would litterally wake up couple times a night in tears....to the point of almost driving my head in the wall....I was seeing and ortho and having Cts...x-rays...and was scheduled for Mri....almost had problem solved...well I got a call one day after I left Dr office telling me that I was fired....because the guy who I had ..I apparently made angry because I jumped him on a promotion told that he had helped me pass the drug test....8 months prior .....so I'm like what is going on here....almost as if I was being pranked or something...anyway I got terminated. And guy that went told that stuff...guess thought he had got me ....which he did...but apparently they had problems with him getting folks written up and stuff....before....so they had been wanting to get rid of him o was told....anyway I got fired for a druhscreen that was clean....and while I had just injured mysleft. At work.....They cancelled my insurance...1 day before my MRI....so...there I was hurt and no insurance or job....and later found out that they had just had2 other men before me that was out having to have surgery on backs....necks etc......corruption at if finest...and seems as tho...there nothing you can do about it...I don't know

Job offer rescinded
I accepted an offer for a job and a week before I was supposed to start.. I was told the person I was replacing failed a drug test on her new job, and my offer was rescinded. I was so angry!! But I know something better is on the horizon.. and I wouldn’t want to work somewhere that will employ someone who failed a drug test!

Just recently last Monday, I finished my third interview at cotsco also did my drug test and background check do anyone know how long those the results come

Pre-employment results
Am I going to get the drug test and background check results at the event or will I have to wait to know if I’ll get hired? I don’t have any issues with either but I have a couple of other interviews set up early next week that may want me to start right away if I get job offers. Amazon has better benefits and advancement opportunities so I definitely prefer to work there.

Boxes or Maruiana?
13.5 yrs , weekends and holidays, fired on the spot for taking six,1.50 per box under supervision approval. Then they are bringing someone back who failed drug test after hitting a pole. They fired him but because he is union and I was salary, he has job back. I am fifty and it is nothing but discremnation out there. No wonder people say the heck with it and just live off the government!
