It can be hard to get hired at Cisco Systems if you don't know someone already there that'll recommend you. Or, in my case, be part of an acquisition. Managers (that I knew) didn't want to have to go through the interview process so they'd ask if anyone knew someone for the role needed, even if it ment getting someone here on a work visa. I am a Network and Telecommunications Specialist, with more than 15 years of IT career experience, being 3 in programming and analysis of Oracle systems, 2 in the Windows / Unix environments administration area where I have achieved my MCSE certification, and since then I work in the Networks and Telecommunications area where I have obtained my CCIE certification.
