I would let my actions speak for me by, being on time, let them see the greatness I have, go above and beyond in everything I do, don’t just go after major projects do a small one and build your brand and your character. Show confidence in everything you do. Just don’t know your job know everyone’s job. Be that it factor to the company that they can’t do without. So that you can walk in stride and have a paper trail of your greatness before you ask for money or a new position. #jobsearch #wordsofadvice #inspiration #advice #motivation

What I loved about working at #Hampton inn and suites was

What I loved about working at Hampton inn & suites was the opportunity to work front desk as a associate and not a housekeeper and or maintenance. I was coming off of the streets had lived a very interesting life as an adolescent. I knew nothing about computers I knew nothing about running a hotel I knew nothing about properly communicating with people at large. But what I did know is I was ready available dedicated willing and teachable. My experience at Hampton was phenomenal it led me to be the front desk associates last night auditor that I am today. It was a platform of the beginning of my guest services. I'm not sure what is this question for but I am looking for a job as we speak so if you guys have one please directly send me the link to where I can put the application in online

My boss is passing me up even though she knows I need the job

I've been working at a place part time for the past 11 months, even though I really need a full time job. I took this job initially because it's in the industry I want to be in, the pay is really good for part time and they offer full benefits for part time employees. I've been working really hard since I started, staying late to help out more and getting a lot of encouragement from my boss that I’m doing well. Well, apparently a full time position opened up in our department, the one I need but for a different team. My boss sat me down and told me about it and said they are looking to hire external, even though in my interview with her I had told her I needed a full time job. It doesn't even seem like she'll vouch for me for that opening if I try to apply, since she just told me about it and they already have someone they are about to make an offer to. I just feel so discouraged and like she just wants to keep me where I am at. I really like the job and the team but this situation is making me so disappointed. Is this my sign to go? Is my boss being sneaky? Is this her way of telling me she doesn't like how I do my job? If that's the case, why doesn't she just fire me? I don't know what to do. Any words of wisdom here on what to do next would be helpful. #advice

Success

I approached Mr. Hubble when he visited Dillard's and told him I wanted to be an Estee Lauder business manager. I was promoted to Tallahassee within a month. #management

My best advice

Try to find work that really interests you. My parents laid out my life without seeking to learn about me. It took me years to find my niche.
