Having worked for three years, i learned not to expect support from corporate. They will complain about your store then not help get you out of trouble. The district and regional managers can and will do their best to help though. #RadioShack #Assistantmanager

My first day as a #HardlinesAssistantManagerandFreshAssistantManager at #Sam'sClub : What I'd do differently

I wouldn't do anything different. I approach my job as being a servant leader , lead by example and get to know my associates on a professional and personal level

Not a good work environment. Company does not care about their employees. Lowest paying manager salary in restaurant industry .

Assistsnt manager

Getting ready for f.o.r. I had been working for 36 hours straight. Cleaning, checking all dates and just touching up. Went home slept 2 hours the phone rings and it's my boss. I need you back. I lived only 10 min. Away so, I was back there in 30 minutes and of all things for me to do. Drive thru runner. Man my feet hurt. Worked 9 more hours, then went home and slept 4 hours and back at it again. Lol #Mcdonalds #Manager

Assistant Manager

Working at Fast n Friendly was different. I love that type of work, but how it was ran my the owners was the worst I've ever had to deal with. It started of with Store Managers, then they got rid of them. So now over 13 salaries of the store managers are no longer. Also, the District Manager retired. So now, 14 salaries are not being used! Instead moved people to store manager positions as Team Leads, now they do all the work Store Managers do, but with no salary and no raise. So this is the owners way of saving tons of money. They are not good at giving raises either. I worked for almost 4 years and received one pay raise cause I threatened to quit and my supervisor for me a raise So I wouldn't, cause I was a very hard worker and worked my tail off. You see they are cheap! They do whatever they can for their pockets to fill up with money. This is how it is, we couldn't go to Branson for a day, cause money wise, but the owners son who is the main person running the company now can afford a new truck and take his family to Paris, France for one whole week. Its not a good company to work for. They have a lot of double standards like a big one when they call you, your expected to call them back but when you call them they don't call you back! Avoid this company! Cheap, cheap, cheap and cheap!

Was a Manager, now laid off...

Personally I have been with Lowes for 7 years. For the most part, depending on which store I had worked for Lowes wasn't that bad to work for and I enjoyed coming in for the day. Lowes recently, in January of this year laid off 3,000 assistant store managers and put 9,000 department managers in a transitional period, 6 key carriers per store have lost their keys so customers aren't being taken care of in a timely manner, each department who lost a DM is now 1 person short in their department and having to pick up the slack themselves, the remainder of us who are transitional are being treated like we don't know anything and are now being delegated to by 10 managers instead of just our store manager and our Zone(ASM). Honestly the place has turned into a low moral joke of a business at store level and this is company wide. If you want to grow within a company, Lowes just removed themselves from that list of companies you can easily grow within. I'm hoping to move onto a new career as soon as possible!
