The Importance of Assistive Technology
To put it as simply as possible, assistive tech levels the playing field. It allows employees with disabilities to gain and retain employment by removing barriers in the workplace.
Employees with disabilities have always been at a disadvantage compared to their able-bodied counterparts, and this continues to hold true in today’s fast-paced professional environment. Assistive tech is designed to reduce and remove these disadvantages by making the job role more accessible and helping workers to perform their responsibilities
Employers have a duty of care to their employees. Accessibility is a right. Come join Abled Workers Unite so in one voice we can effect positive change. Accessibility, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion #AWU #ADEI #disability #jobs

Why is the Unemployment rate for People with Disabilities so much higher than People in the general population?
There are many factors that contribute to the high unemployment rate among people with disabilities. According to a report by the American Progress, one of the reasons is that many employers have negative attitudes towards people with disabilities and are reluctant to hire them.
Another reason is that people with disabilities often face barriers in accessing education and training programs that would help them acquire the skills needed for employment.
In addition, people with disabilities often face discrimination in the workplace and are more likely to experience harassment or bullying.
The COVID-19 pandemic has also had a significant impact on employment rates for people with disabilities.
This is 2023 People we MUST do better. Accessibility and Inclusion will give us Diversity and Equity #ADEI #disability #jobs we need one voice to effect change. That is why Abled Workers Unite was formed. If you are a Jobcaser with a disability come and join us!

To have total Inclusion we must be totally Accessible in society in general and the workplace. That is why we need to change the narrative from #DEI to #ADEI or #DEIA where A stands for Accessibility. The Disability Community is made up of every other marginalized community. We need to not only be at the table we need to be INCLUDED in every decision, policy, etc. It is time, wouldn't you say? #ADEI #togetherwecan
