So my boyfriend and I almost got scammed while looking for an apartment this weekend. He replied to a craigslist ad we posted saying that he had a place to show us immediately and wondered if we could make an open house between 2pm and 4:30pm. It was already 5:20pm when he sent us the times for the open house (flag #1). The guy (who later identified himself as Jovan after we asked) said he was already out of town but my boyfriend and I were welcome to drive by the place (in a very nice part of town) and if we liked it, then he would send us photos. He said he would rent it out to us for $1,000 a month (which was a steal for the area) and asked us to put down $1,000 to reserve our spot (flag #2) (we did not put up the money). Instead we asked him more questions. He kept pushing for someone to just move in or he was going to list the place with his realtor because he had already left the state and needed the property gone (flag #2). We said we liked the place but we wanted to see the inside and asked him to call the leasing office so they could show us the place. Instead, he emailed us photos that has a little logo in the lower left hand corner, that were OBVIOUSLY taken from the website for the place (flag #3). Then the guy got scared and started getting defensive, saying we weren't serious about the place when my bf cc'd me in the emails.

This was a well-spoken person with minimal spelling/ semantic mistakes, who was nearly convincing in his lies about being a doctor who moved to live with family and just wanted to help. This man even said he was a Christian and wanted to help us out with our situation! ? Thank GOD for my mother and my bf who thought to ask so many questions because I was almost ready to give this guy $1,000 PLUS the $2,000 more he asked for 1st and last months rent. My bf spoke to a fiend of his and apparently housing scams like this are picking up a lot more due to so many people not being able to find housing due to COVID. PLEASE be careful. ASK questions. If something seems too good to be true then it probably is!!!

3 - MAJOR STOPS YOU MUST MAKE...! [IBYC]

I'm telling you the truth...(MUST READ W/O FAIL)

People generally sabotage their own lives and barricade themselves into a position where: A) Nothing good ever comes to them in life. B) Because nothing good ever comes from them in life. Do you know anyone that fits that description? Hmm...

Three (3) - Majors Stops You MUST Make In Life: #1. STOP damaging your self-esteem with negative thoughts and talks that breaks you down. #2. STOP finding faults about yourself everytime you look in the mirror. #3. STOP judging yourself because you're not somebody else's insensitive standards.

WHY? Because you are BEAUTIFUL just the way you are. Write down this powerful morning affirmation and repeat it at least 3 times each day: "I am all I have; I am all I need; If I really try hard, God will help me succeed."

DON'T ALLOW OTHERS...! [IBYC]

I'm telling you the truth...

People seek out others not simply for conversation, companionship or positive counseling. Rather, to find out your availability for unscheduled listening time in the workplace.

Do you know why? To "dump the trash" out of their lives into the empty trash can of your life. Does that make sense?

3 - KEY TIPS: #1. Keep your personal business to yourself. #2. Don't tell other people about your affairs. #3. Evaluate your friendships with a fine tooth comb.

In other words, don't allow others to dump their trash in your life.

YOU HAVE GREATNESS IN YOU...! [IBYC]

I'm telling you the truth...

Many people will live almost a lifetime not ever discovering their true self-worth, value and purpose in life. Really, that is an absolute shame.

Many times to find the greatness within you means:

STEP #1. Setting aside personal time for YOU. STEP #2. Having a wholehearted conversation with YOU. STEP #3. Knowing what you want in life for YOU. STEP #4. Establishing those short-term goals for YOU. STEP #5. Digging deep inside to bring your greatness to the surface of life.

You owe this to YOURSELF.

5 - DON'Ts TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE! (IBYC)

I'm telling you the truth... #Inspiration for Life

Each day you will either "walk by faith" or "crawl by sight." One will lift you higher, while the other will bend you down.

5 - DONT'S YOU SHOULD AVOID

STEP #1. Don't let your feet touch the floor In the morning until you say: Thank You! STEP #2. Don't accept the mood swings, develop your mood change when the chips are down. STEP #3. Don't take anything for granted, act like the little things matter. Because they do. STEP #4. Don't look in the rearview mirror of life, rather, look through the windshield of faith. STEP #5. Don't worry about what you didn't do yesterday, start doing great things today.

When you change, everything around you must change.

More and more employers are looking for the whole person in an interview situation. Nicolle Lamb of Lane Marketing shares advice on how to be “all you” at the job interview in the edition of Career Tips in Five: It’s All You!

Tip #1 Be Genuine – Everyone can see and sense when you are overcompensating and you think you need to bring some other energy to the table. Just bring yourself. Be genuine.

Tip #2 Share Appropriately – This is a tough balance. You have share enough so the employer can see who you are, but not overshare to give us red flags.

Tip #3 Show Confidence – How you come into the room, who you are and how you shake a hand. If you don’t have confidence in yourself then why should I?

Tip #4 Prepare for the commonly asked questions – do your homework. Answering those easy questions. What are your strengths and weaknesses? What are you really good at?

Tip #5 Body language is key – Wearing things that build confidence, sitting up in your chair, and how you present yourself.
