Great question. I would do some intentional research and make an informed decision to ask or not to ask based upon the research.

If you're in transition you should be well versed in company policies, apparently they've trusted you thus far why would you even consider it, probably felt uncomfortable;.. yet ..... "don't let the yets get the best of you"; good luck with your new position.

I would follow the policy if we're not allowed to take on a position in that manner then I I would follow the policy.

NO leave ...

What are the requirements and pay scale.

I am Retired so no problem

I would ask him to match the pay package I am being offered plus an equivalent benefits package if the current job's package fell short

As that type of question is an open-ended one, I would ask for $1.5 Million USD annually, 3 months guaranteed vacation per year, a 7 hour per day, 4 days a week work schedule, all holidays and weekends off per year, fully paid-for health benefits (vision, dental, hearing, medical), life insurance employer paid for, and a company car, with mileage paid for. That's what I'd require! And, before anyone says my requests are unrealistic or unreasonable, remember that the employer stated "whatever I wanted"! If you can't accept "Any" offer, an employer shouldn't make these types of offers in the first place!

I need a couple of days to think about it.
i will go for the new offer.
