Don't Live Expecting Employers to Seek You Out
Get out there and hunt. There are no jobs that dozens aren't already applying for. If your goal is to land a job by online application alone, good luck. Jobs don't care about how qualified you are they won't even see your resume. Make sure to modify your resume for each job, solid foundations start with jobs with clear transferable skills.
Branch out and apply to places you never thought you'd be applicable for. While waiting take on challenges to grow in the role you are applying for - don't just wait. Invest. Looking for a job is your new job. I set a schedule and a list of what needs to be accomplished. Keep a positive attitude and seek out support. Patience is important, its not going to happen overnight. Look outside your comfort zone, new areas of interest are always a good idea to explore.

I would tell them I could see their point. If at all possible I would try to take each complaint and explain why it happened and then do all I (we ) could do to correct it.
