Each situation and each state is unique, so trying to figure out how to get help is #stressful! But you can do this, and here is how:
1. Find state specific resources and links. Go to Unemployment Resource Center or check out your state’s topic page on Jobcase.
2. Apply! There is no harm in applying and many past requirements have been waived due to our current situation.
3. Keep Record. Write down your confirmation. Keep track of dates you filed so you don’t miss a week and can keep track of your state's requirements to get benefits.
4. File online weekly. Return to your state's sites and file weekly.
5. Reach out. - Jobcase is here for you. Your friends and family are here for you. Happy, sad, discouraged, optimistic, annoyed, thankful… whatever you are feeling, share it! Someone is here to help; you can help someone else. We are in this together!

Hello I'm from Chicago Illinois, serving penalty weeks. I've paid back my over payment and served 8 penalty weeks out of 26. I am not collecting any pandemic funds nor my remaining balance of unemployment fund's. Does any one know if Congress will change this during this pandemic? Is anyone going through similar situation or any ideas tips ect... The Congress can forgive employer on penalties why not the employees. I've called ides numerous if times no answer. It was mentioned on channel 2 news but haven't heard anything else

I was laid off work due to Covid 19. I filled for unemployment benefits benefits and was denied. I was told that I had not earned the minimum requirements for unemployment benefits. I told them I had just started my new job and was laid off because we were directly affected by the by the PANDEMIC. They still refused me help. Now I'm trying to at least get the PUA benefits and I can't get anyone on the phone here in Tennessee. It's going on two whole months now. I need help asap....

Seems America don't really feel the struggle...

How about Maine? I exhausted my benefits on Feb 8 2020 and won't get stimulus cause husband pays back child support and no work due to virus. Need extension for unemployment

Worked part time but due to Coronavirus work less. Do I qualify for unemployment?

I've applied for assistance but they told me don't make enough money on my job to get help...? My hours have been cut to about 13 hrs. a week and I'm going into debt and can't afford to maintain with no assistance for the covid 19 virus stimulus package. It's not for the struggling Black people ...

I filed for unemployment about 2 1/2 months ago and was denied due to not making enough money in 2019 or 2018. What can I do to collect the $1,200 corona-19 payout to everyone and the $500 for having a child under17?

I was on unemployment when the virus struck, but I was at the end of my of my benefits. I secured a State job, and was supposed to do my fingerprints and background check the week after my benefits ran out. I rec'd my last check, which included the $600 extra benefit. I received a message from the State that it was unsure when my new job would begin, so should I file a new claim in Hope's of getting the $600 benefit until my new job starts?

Oh and yes we will have to file a weekly claim. The state will advise to when we can start sending them through. There target date is the week of April 26th.
I was still employed when the CARES Act took effect, but lost my job in April of 2021. My employer stated that they would not approve Unemployment Benefits, so I never filed. That was a mistake as I was not thinking of the different regulations due to Covid. It is now November and I'm still unemployed and have been unsuccessful in even filing for unemployment. I can't get through the Verify.Me threshold on the UI Online site, and due to all of the Covid restrictions, I'm unable to find an open unemployment office near me that works with my schedule in order to receive their assistance. MY QUESTION IS: Is there some kind of a loophole that will allow me to back date my unemployment application to April when I lost my job?
