Time to Consider Grocery Stores as an Employment Option
If you are looking for a job in a hurry, it is time to seriously consider grocery store chains as an option. Hiring sources say many chains including Safeway, Jewel-Osco, Mariano's, and Whole Foods can't find enough people. Here are some insights into different roles to consider:
Most common roles are stock clerks, cashiers, baggers and meat cutters. Specific departments will also have:
- Department Manager (usually 1)
- Assistant Department Manager (usually 1)
- Product Buyer/Orderer (1 or more depending on the size of the department)

GM. My neighbor's son just recently started working for a restaurant. Am guessing he will soon be part of the 18% who will be out of a job. So sad, he's a good kid :(
I wish I was able to take one of the jobs Aldi's is offering in my area. You work hard, but they pay well. Unfortunately, grocery store positions aren't possible for me. While I get around okay, I'm not able to stand for long periods of time :(
