Hi Susan - I want to make sure I understand your question correctly. Are you asking if you are eligible to collect unemployment and the associated benefits?

You may be eligible for additional benefits under the federal Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation program, which is available through March 14. Approval is based on your regular state claim: If you were eligible for benefits from your state, you are also eligible for this extension through the CARES Act.

If I’m correct you can only get unemployment through the cares act and this new stimulus package if you lost your job due to the pandemic. I have been on unemployment since last January at first has nothing to do with the pandemic but when was told to go back to work they wanted me to travel to another town for no reason other than the new owner did not want my liability being hurt on the job had surgery(rotar cuff) so after being treated so badly I was either forced to not have my job or travel everyday to another town which had so many Covid cases compared to where I should of been able to go back to work in my own town. I absolutely did nothing wrong so i have a very weak immune system and would not take the chance of being exposed to Covid so that changed to me not working due to Covid there were other circumstances that KDOL was aware of from my employers that helped my case but I’m pretty sure you have to have lost your job or been laid off due to the pandemic Good luck

yes. you learn to extend your unemployment by working small jobs and just under the weekly amount. Unemployment will pay the difference. Enjoy life quit trying to survive. Find other ways.

from my checks on job listings there are so many jobs available. My question would be have you looked for similar work prior to covid layoff? Are you interested in working?
