Unemployment

Hi, I had applied for PUA and I made a mistake on my first claim saying I couldn’t work or unravel to work even though I was getting frustrated filling out my first claim and didn’t pay attention to what I clicked. On the second claim I filed I said I am able to work but I am not able to certify for benetfits and not able to get in contact with EDD. I would like some help on how to get in contact with EDD or to be able to get some knowledge on how I can fix my account to be able to certify for benefits?? #unemployment #claim #pua #coronavirus #california

I would suggest two things. First, call in to Employment Security Department (what it is called in Washington State) and explain all. Ask to speak with a Claims Specialist. Ask the Claims Specialist what you can do to fix the errors. Be very kind, don't get upset, show your appreciation, take notes, and ask folliw-up questions to make sure you get your next steps correctly. Ask for the name of the Specialist and write it down. Save your notes and record the date that you called. If Employment Security Dept has sent you notices requesting additional information from you, respond in a very timely manner. If you do not respond within the allotted time frame, you will be disqualified. Answer all questions truthfully!!!!! If Employment Security denied you benefits, you should have received a letter stating the reason your claim was denied. You must respond to that letter within x-number of days. Make sure everything in your appeal is complete, truthful, and easy to understand (proof-reaf very carefully!). In Washington State it can take up to 4 weeks for an appeal to be processed and a decision reached. I hope all this helps. Never blame Employment Security, and NEVER get frustrated/nasty. You will only shoot yourself in the foot. Remember the old saying, "You always catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar." If you have more questions for me, I will try to watch my email for a message from you. Good luck!!!

For me when I applied it took 2 months to get paid from unemployment & then Ross re-opened & I went back to work but I called out sick 1 day & because I had a headache & was dizzy(no air conditioning or open windows) they sent me to the drs. & said don’t come back for 3 days with a drs. note did that came back to work my mgr. started yelling at me & said I either quit or get fired I quit that was in June I let unemployment know, them all the paperwork they asked for & my case has been pending now for 8 was...& the weeks they pd. for 2 of them didn’t include funds from the federal government. When I tried & still trying to call our office No One calls back or answers

The best thing to do is have the number for your department of labor (that's what it is called in Connecticut) find out when they open mostly 8-8:30am soon as the clock strike 8 call them easiest way to get connected I do know Monday and Thursdays are the busiest days

Call your unemployment office 2 minutes before they open and you'll be the first caller to be answered.

I call unemployment but I press the button for new claim. I call at 8 am always get through. I be waiting for at least a hour on hold. But anytime I need to fix something or ask a question. To talk to someone quick pick new claim.
