She told me I was a failure
I began working at Walgreens because my family needed some extra cash when my mother was sick. We all get those grumpy customers now and again, but on one shift, I was running the register when an old lady called me an “ignorant high school drop out.” I accidentally messed up her change by 5 cents and she freaked. She told me I was NOT going anywhere in my life. I took a deep breath, smiled, and told her that I was working there while my mom was sick because my father needed to be home to care for her and that I was actually still in school. She came over to me and said she was so sorry. I thought she was going to cry right then and there, so I told her it was ok and she left.
I will never accept that I am anything less than awesome, no matter who tells me otherwise, and you shouldn't either!

Open to any suggestions
I have applied to so many jobs online, and even had an interview for a job with a hospital. But, then again, I received yet another rejection email. I have gotten several rejection emails (saying they chose someone else) from places like Walgreens, several office jobs, and even the local grocery store! I have been out of the workforce (not even volunteering) for over 16 years. Plus, we have moved (just last summer) to an area where there is a large college. I have heard from many employers that they receive over 400 applications for each individual job. How am I supposed to get a job where there are so many others out there applying who either have more recent experience, or they are younger?! I have skills and experience. I simply have not used them in a paying job for many years. This is very frustrating! I am now going to apply to every available job, unless I feel it is not a safe environment, or during hours that are impossible for me to work.

Looking for job
My name is Delis Caridad and I looking for a job en richmond

disappointed
So I have applied online to work overnights at a Walgreens near where I live. In less than a day they emailed me saying they will no longer move forward in the process. My sister had just told me that she has seen a sign on their door saying HELP WANTED OVERNIGHT for the past few months. I got really upset because I applied for the specific position they need and they just turned me down. I also have retail experience and hoped that would make me stand out more but I guessed wrong. If I apply in person will I get the same result?

Walgreens
I’m the same with all of you. I have put my application in at Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, etc many times each I have a very good background and a lot of experience. Have no idea how you can get an interview. Very discouraged, we moved to Fort Mohave, Arizona a little over a year ago. I desperately need a job.

Wife needs help
My wife wants a job at a Walgreens around the corner from our house and I keep telling her she should go in and apply, but she gets wicked nervous. She has stayed home with our kids for 7 years but now wants to get back out there. What can I do to help her??
