California DMV Air Brake Test
Here’s a video of the California DMV Air Brake Test. 📝
You need to pass the General Knowledge and Air Brake test to receive your Class A permit. Once you get your permit you can go to trucking school and they will teach how to drive a semi-truck. 🚛
You can also find a company that will provide paid training as an alternative to paying for trucking school. 🏫

Class A DMV California General Knowledge Questions
Here’s a YouTube video that will help you study for your Class A permit. 📖
These 50 questions are just for general knowledge. There is another part of the test, which is an “Air Brake” test. 📝
I recommend only taking these two test, pass it get your Class A, then take your endorsement test which includes; hazmat, tankers, triples & doubles endorsements. ✅
Keep in mind the trucking industry is federally regulated and we fall under federal laws, but check with your local DMV in your own state because this is a California DMV test. You can always YouTube the state you reside in. ✅
I also recommend that you don’t just watch YouTube videos and assume you’ll pass the test. Study the DMV handbook, download the CDL prep app, and YouTube the DMV test to reinforce your preparation. This information is needed throughout your trucking career. ✅

Chevron Aviation Fuel Card
I’ve been training for my petroleum tanker position since April 18th and I finally got my first fuel card for Chevron. ⛽️ 🪪
I can now load aviation fuel at a Chevron terminal in El Segundo, California. ✈️ I have around 9 more cards to get certified that include 76 terminals. This takes around 3 months to complete. ✅
I have to say from hauling out the Long Beach ports to hauling fuel they are two different worlds. Hauling fuel is a lot more challenging and physical than the ports, but I can truly say I’m enjoying it. I’ll be updating the trucking community as I continue my journey. I hope everyone is landing the job they desire!

How to get a CDL
Here’s my monthly post on how to get a “Commercial Driver’s License”. 🪪 These are the exact steps I took to get my CDL. If you follow these instructions, you’ll avoid any delays and will be on the road to a 6 figure career. 💰
The first thing you need to do is study for the CDL. Download the DMV study guide from their website. I also recommend downloading the CDL prep app. It’s free and has the same questions as the DMV test. When you are ready to take the air brake and knowledge test, make a DMV appointment. Before your appointment you’ll need a DOT physical from an urgent care. Not all urgent cares offer DOT physicals, so call and find out which one does. They are generally $100 for a medical certificate. When your DMV appointment arrives, take your birth certificate, ID, medical certificate, and two utility bills that prove you live at your residence. ✅
After passing your test you’ll receive a Class A permit and you can either pay $3,000 to enroll in trucking school which is 27 courses 1 hour each course, or you can apply for a trucking company that will provide paid training. Takes around 2-4 months to get your CDL from start to finish depending on the pace you set for yourself. Any other questions feel free to ask. ✅

Superior Tank Lines
I’m excited to announce I just accepted a job offer with Superior Tank Lines which is the 2nd highest paying fuel carrier in the nation! 🚛⛽️
I took a road test on 3/27 and met all the requirements to haul fuel. This is a huge transition from working the Los Angeles Ports. 🚢
Superior Tank Lines pays $130k annually, pays 100% medical, PTO starts day 1, and EOS which out performs 401k. 💰
I’ve been wanting to haul fuel for this particular carrier for the past 2 years and I’m finally in. I’ll be resigning from my union carrier Maersk next week once they give me a start date. My favorite part is that my commute is only 30 minutes round trip. ✅
I’m excited to start my new journey. This is the 6th carrier I’ve worked for in the past 2 1/2 years. Having a Class A CDL has a career advantage because there are more jobs than there are drivers. As you can see job hopping isn’t a problem in the trucking industry. This will be the last carrier I work for until I go full-time Real Estate Investing. Don’t stop pursuing your goals and keep grinding it out until you reach financial freedom! 💯
Keep on trucking! 🚛⛽️
