Never move to Kitsap County in Washington state. Its a economic dead end. No work other then low wage work. Its anti small business so starting a business in this place will send you to the poor house. Fighting the local regulators. Cost of living is to high so even if you get work. You are not getting very far head of the game. Then you could get trapped like myself and are unable to leave. Thanks to low wage work and no way to save up to move to a better job location.
I have worked for this company for over 5 years and feel like my seniors are holding me back from succeeding. I am a retail territory manager, I travel a group of stores in my territory checking up on management to make sure they have all the correct displays up and inventory corrections etc. I have two college degrees and was planning on working my way up in this company after graduating college, although I have not received one raise the entire time working here. I work mainly alone because my boss lives in a different state, and have had over 8 different bosses while working here. Some of the people I have worked with, I couldn't even tell you if they had a high school education. It's literally unbelievable, and I intentionally go out of my way to be as nice as possible, never talked back once, meanwhile they have steadily given me "promotions" that include; more work, higher responsibility, yet somehow lower overall pay? I have to manage the managers of stores in my territory, while these managers are making god only knows how much more money than me. To make matters worse I've totaled two cars rushing around for these people trying to make it to different locations on time, in the worst traffic zones in the area. I've basically given these people my entire life, and all I've gotten in return is lower pay and passive aggressive threats that I could lose my job! Also, they only pay me for driving "in-between" locations, meaning if they only schedule me for one store I don't get paid to drive there, so I've noticed they will intentionally schedule me to go to a store 50 miles away for only one report so they don't have to pay me for driving 100 miles (roundtrip), which is a huge rip-off. To top it off I work almost 40 hours a week (sometimes over) yet get no full-time employee benefits, like health insurance. They gave me a "promotion" just recently, making me think I would get a raise because its the same job my old bosses had who make more than I do, but ended up with no raise, no benefits. I'm at loss for what to do, because I'm getting married in a month and don't have time to cause a fuss, I can't risk getting fired for bringing up these issues to my boss.......What should I do? ANY help would be much appreciated, Thank You #trapped
