Finally a job and I start tomorrow!!!

I’m excited to announce that I am OFFICIALLY starting a contract to perm job tomorrow. I am even more excited that I will be given the top rate of $31/hr. It’s a little less than I was making before but I am so blessed to have a job. I still have a few pending/potential offers, but unless it’s a perm position making more money, I think I’m cool.

Update: Took a job shortly after this making about $43/hr

Thank you all for your support and kind words. I will keep you posted about any job changes.

The biggest mistake I made as a #Flagger at #Peopleready ...

leaving one job to accept a higher paying ticket and the better paying job ended early.

The Truth About Temp Labor...

Temp labor is one of the fastest-growing industries in the US. Increasingly, temp workers are part of a business strategy to keep costs down and profits high. From mega-retailers to mom-and-pop shops, temps are hired to do some of the hardest and most dangerous jobs. While more and more of the American workforce is comprised of temporary workers, they're largely hidden from public view. Many of these workers stay silent, often having their livelihoods threatened if they speak out.

Permanently Temporary To get a full understanding, watch the full video.

In this industry who suffer the most?

I would not recommend someone to work at #StaffManagement because

I wouldn't recommend working at staff management whatsoever especially with the office managers in there now.

Temporary

Until they give you your start date I would consider a temp agency, that way you don't have to feel obligated to stay just let them no your wating on a start date, in the mean time if still look into some work in your field you never know what might come of it it's not about ethics it's about what's best for you.

Looking For Empliyment

I'm looking for employment as a secretary/receptionist or live-in caretaker easily reachable by public transportation. I live in the Jefferson Park neighborhood. As a secretary/receptionist, I have over 25 years experience and about 3 years experience as a caregiver. Does anyone know of a reputable temp/temp-to-hire agency that I can work with?

Health insurance

I started as a temp worker in 2016 and got hired on full time with the company that I was placed at in November 2017 I filled out the paperwork for insurance turned it in and when I never received my health insurance cards I asked my blue hat about it and he told me to ask the HR office about it I was told that they were waiting for me to turn it in I the female in charge that I gave it to that female so she went and asked her about my paperwork then comes back and tells me that I didn't give her any paperwork. So asked now what she tells me that I have to wait till next year to reapply for insurance. So filed taxes for 2018 and was told good news and bad news bad news I'm getting fined $675 for no health insurance. I called the labor division and told them what happened and I was told to talk to the IRS about it so I attempted to but couldn't get a hold of a human being since now a days you have to listen to an automated message. Any suggestions on what to do or who to talk to??
