How I started volunteering at #DomesticViolenceSpeakersBureau
I started volunteering for DVSB due in part to a personal situation I had experienced of my own. I saw a need to inform not only myself, but the community as to what DV is, how it not only affects the victim, but also the family. I also took on the responsibility to further understand some underlying truths from within myself. Why did I seem to think that fighting was a way to express myself, when someone would verbally or mentally hurt me. Who am I to blame for not seeking help? What can I do to help others see the vision of DV as a form of control, not love. When does a person realize that they do not have to stay in a relationship that is abusive. And lastly, where are all the people who say they would do this, if that happened. Many of questions evolved within me as to why I took this as a passion, I am to assume that it comes from my own upbringing, and the physical abuse I taken from my own parent as a child growing up. To volunteer helped to close a many of doors in my life, and I felt compelled to give that back to those that may be experiencing the same walk or similar as I. Domestic Violence is nothing to be afraid of, however death is something one can not return from.

My advice to people interested in working at #GilgalChurchesofKenya as a #Pastor ...
A place with great potential. All one needs is to have the right spirit and motive.

The last nice thing I did @ #FergusonroadBaptistChurch was
the last nice thing I did was helping out on the first floor after it got flooded.

I decided to volunteer at #Peeroutreachworker because
I wanted to be more aware of HIV and AIDS STDs and stis educating myself and learning statistics and numbers plus it was my anitial plan to work for a non profit organization that specialize in LGBT youth

Seniors return to school to become social workers
I was told to get a degree in social worker as they are always needed and age would not be an issue, so I went. I've been looking for employment for nearly a year and every interview is done by young women who don't seem interested in hiring me. Is it an older person intimates them? Is it that they feel an older person won't fit in with their team of 20-30 year olds? I'm not the only one this happening to. The older students in my class that graduated are also having the same experience! I am considering to ask them in my next interview, "Does my age bother you and if so why?" Wonder if they will be honest. It's a real shame that age would be a problem. Energetic seniors have lots to offer by experience in life lessons. I just don't understand why it is so difficult to find a job in social work!!

What I loved working at #BlubytheSea
I loved everything about Blu by the Sea! The co-workers were so good about offering to help you out if they weren't busy themselves. The bosses were awesome! Christen people whose passion was to help every client that came through their doors. Not to mention their generosity to everyone. Great place to work.

Worked with the public most of my life.

Learn your job, stay as honest as possible and know the rules, policy and regulations

2 things I really love about working at @ #St.CharlesBorromeoChurch are 1-
St.Charles Borromeo Church in Studio City California is the best place I did volunteer work. Every year they have a carnival/fair and I attend and work in all of them performing magic or just helping. I loved working with the kids during the conformation classes as well which let me digress from school a bit and get religious for an hour or 2
