No co-worker ever got mad at me, but an outside provider raised his voice and was very unpleasant. I kept my cool and did what I could to help. My manager heard the conversation and told me I did everything right.

It was a great place to work. Everyone helped others if they needed it and everyone was appreciated for their hard work.

What I loved working at #PacificCross

I love working at Pacific Cross because I have a great degree of control and freedom within my job. I work full-time on a flexible schedule, both in and out-of-office, and my boss trusts me to produce high-quality work and results. I work hard to maintain that level of trust, which keeps me engaged and excited — but at the same time, I love that my job enables me to love and enjoy my other passions in life.

I was proud to work for #InnovativeClaimService because

Everyone was treated with respect. It was a great atmosphere to work in and I always looked forward to go to work. That was not always the case at other jobs.

My advice to people interested in working at #AcceptanceInsurance as a #InsuranceAgent ...

Acceptance is a great company to work for you. Like all companies Acceptance went through changes and a lot of the changes were good, mostly to benefit consumers. I wanted to work at #IAS because

I have worked in the insurance industry since I was 17yrs old. I started in California and worked in the Workers' Compensation claim department then moved to The Hartford doing Short Term/Long Term Disability and before I moved to Florida I was working as a Fraud Investigator for The Hartford. When I moved to Florida I saw the ability to work in the Medicare Insurance field and since I had not been in this type of field I wanted to obtain the knowledge.

Getting frustrated

How does one find permanent employment these days that isn’t call center based?

I graduated college in the mid 90s with two useless bachelors degrees and immediately began office jobs. I then moved into insurance claims which I made good money doing. Unfortunately I became horrifically ill, had to go on long term medical leave and eventually lost my job.

After almost 2 years out of work, I found a temp job doing outbound calls for a call center and quickly moved up the ranks to team leader. Then they moved to another part of the country and I was unable to relocate.

This was 5 years ago and I have been unable to find permanent non-call center work since. I hate working in call centers where my every move is micromanaged like I’m a toddler and I went from being salaried at $50K a year to making $13 an hour with no benefits and can’t seem to break this cycle.

How does one find permanent, non call center work in 2019?

Probably the biggest mistake would have to be not demanding more than $1.10 pay increase after 6 years.

Not so much stressful as frustrated, there was zero room for advancement, or pay increases for that matter. After 6 years at the "Cohen-Cohen" agency, on was making $1.10 more than when I started. Not good for employee retention. The staff, unbeknownst to the "Cohen-Cohen" owners were ALWAYS looking for another, better, job.
