This dad needed my help
I was working a shift the other day at CVS (I’m retired but do it to get out of the house) and a man walked into the store. He went to the feminine hygiene products and looked so confused! He was on his phone googling things looking at every product. I walked up and asked if he needed help with anything and he explained to me that he was a single father with a teenage daughter who sent him to get her tampons! He had no idea there were so many options and what to get her. I had him text her asking what she preferred and got it for him .. AND a bag of chocolate!!! I’m glad I was there to help because he would not have known what to do.

The biggest mistake I made as a #MedicareAppealsAdjudicator at #CVS ...
None that I can remember. In fact, we trained our replacements as the company moved our department across the country.

A #stressful #CVS day
There was only one other person who did what I did. I had more degrees and qualifications than he. I am female and even if I only went to the ladie's room he would call the supervison and say 'She is not at her desk'. On our super busy days I would eat my brown bag lunch at my desk and if there was time I would work on a crossword pussle during that lunch. He would take one of the young girls out to lunch so she would do his computer work for him and so he could play video games. However, he would call the supervisor and say I was eating at my desk and doing a crossword. In some ways he was insecure, I think that I had one more degree than he' he once said he was accepted into the same type of academic program but quit after a week into it blaming his wife on getting pregnant.

Yup
I remember it was around this time when I worked at CVS and Mother's Day was coming up. I helped this little girl, she couldn't have been more than 10 help pick out a card for her mom. Her mom was in the store and she told her she had to wait up front and she came up and said she needed help. She took my hand and walked me over to the cards. I was in the middle of stocking but my boss saw me and gave me the ok. We went through probably like 15 cards or so until we found the one she liked. She gave me a hug and went and paid for her card with the change she had saved. CUTEST THING ever!!!!

I worked all the holiday shifts
I remember working almost all the holidays as a cashier for CVS. Sometimes you got them off, but I felt bad cuz I don't have kids or a big family so I usually would volunteer to work so others could have it off. One Christmas Eve we all wore santa hats and my boss made us a HUGE thing of hot chocolate in the back and actually baked us a ton of cookies. It was def nice to be appreciated.
