My advice to people interested in working at #CVS as a #ShiftSupervisor ...

I wouldnt work there. They promised you a promotion and then hire a much younger girl instead. It really hurt me because i had been there for 5 years and felt thier word meant nothing. I was treated like a cashier and never got to finish my training as a shift supervisor because it was stopped the moment she got hired.

I saved her memories.

When I was a teenager, I worked at CVS in the photo lab. This was before smartphones and digital cameras. If you had a roll of film that you took, you brought it over to a lab to get it developed. I know crazy right? Seems so foreign now. Well, a woman had come in to drop off some photos, but in the process of taking out her film earlier that day at home, it was over exposed. She told me this while crying.

It was her daughter's graduation and although it might not seem like a huge deal for some those were her memories. I spent hours after my shift was over trying to undo the damage. I didn't save them all but I did get a few great shots of her with her parents and a couple by herself. I called to the woman to tell her and she came in the very next day. She was so relieved and happy to have some tangible memories of the day. Now YEARS later, no longer in high school, and a mother myself, I know I would want someone to do everything they could to save those memories for me.

What it was like for me

I worked at CVS while I was going to school to get my CNA degree. I worked in the pharmacy and rang customers out. My management was great and the staff friendly. CVS has good pay that is somewhat competitive I think. They are also one of the few companies that always seem to hire FT and give out benefits, which is a major plus. I recommend them to other students I meet so they can help pay their way through school like I did.
