Time to check your application status!
This is a critical step during the hiring process that is easily overlooked. Although they may not make the final hiring decision, they will surface you to the right people who will. Recruiters are pretty busy people, and occasionally, their response times to emails or phone calls are slow or in some cases non-existent.

Resume tip: Use action verbs in your resume!
Great use of the right action verbs in the right places can light up your resume and switch the recruiter from "drone mode" to genuinely engaged, after which you can let your qualifications and personality take care of the rest.
What action verbs do you use in your resume? Comment below with your go-to action verbs or an action verb you will add to your resume.

- If you have the recruiters’ contact information that you met with; be sure to send a follow up email either today or tomorrow. No later! Be sure to include your resume in your followup.
- You can call the company that you met with and ask to speak to the recruiter as well that you met with. You want to ask if they have your resume on file for the job that you’re interested for and if not who to send it to.
- Check your personal network to see if you know anyone that works or has worked at the employers you’re interested in. You’ll want to speak with them too about the hiring process at those locations.
