This is an interesting question, and what hesitation do you think an interviewer will have when considering you for the position? Are you transferring from a different field to becoming a receptionist? Are you a new college graduate? Is this your first job?
I think depending on the reason, a different strategy may be more useful.
You really need to show you have the capability to do the duties you'll be responsible to complete in the normal day. So, ask yourself, "How do I know I can do this?" Have you done something similar in the past? How has life prepared you to do these tasks? Why can you do it better than the other people?
Another aspect that will be important to the job is your personality since you'll be facing clients on a regular basis. You'll need to shine.
Confidence is going to be key. The interviewer wants you to be the right fit. You just have to show them they were right about bringing you in to interview. You got this!

Also for a front desk job you will need excellent communication skills and a professional appearance.

You should explain how the job qualifications matched your skills during the interview. Learn the company culture and background and show your knowledge about the company. Good luck.

If you have any previous customer service experience, definitely use that like @John Lauer said! They want to know you can be the face of the company for clients, and can manage other related work that will come up! If you feel you can be a friendly face and meet your responsibilities don't hesitate to apply! Filling out your Jobcase profile throughly can also help you get more personalized opportunities and advice here, so try that as well! Good Luck! 💖

What Teresa Phillips said!!

Show up in a very good mood, with a smile and great attitude and looking your best.

Be sure to smile a lot and be cheerful greeting people or on the phone. You are the first face of the organization and how you present yourself is a big reflection on the company!

no I'm not a front desk personality

Be confident
one thing I did is read up on the company. show the person interviewing that you know about the history and little things about the company. that's really with any job, but I had an interview today and I think I got the job. I made sure to tell them I am an excellent multi-tasker, I love talking to people, and helping people with their problems. Anything dealing with people and being good at working in a busy environment seems to be good.
