I lost my job due to COVID in March. Now I'm looking for a new career path. I was considering taking classes for project management but I'm worried I don't have the right personality type for that kind of job. Does anyone have advice for people considering project management? Any general advice for someone in their early 30's considering new career paths? #tips #career #projectmanagement #jobsearch

Everything Arvin stated is right on the money. Some basic but strong skills you will need to have are organization, detail oriented, time management, and communication. This is also a highly stressful position. No matter your "set hours" there are probably going to be a few times that you are working out of those hours.

To be a PM you will need thick skin. Everyone is going to you for guidance and you are also the fix it and the blame when something goes wrong. If you are an analytical thinker and can finesse situations, I say go for it. The money is good and can lead to higher positions down the road.

Project management is good you learn all the skills listed above by others and you will be able to manage any project and in the long run you can start your own business.
