I am in excellent condition ; both Mentally and physically; BUT.... I think the fact that You now have to "Reveal your age; which back in the day.... It was not required to do so. You know; not needed or any of the potential hiring business. NOW they can pass You over, WITHOUT giving You a " Fair" shake at even getting " Ones foot in the Door. 🤔.

I have been off for almost 10 months. I have interviewed several times and felt I had the right qualifications for several jobs. However, they always ended up hiring someone else. I sometimes wondered if it is my age. I just turned 64. I still have six good years to give some company. So, what is stopping me from returning to work is my age. I really feel it is. I can't prove anything. Sad part is I have a lot of experience that I could pass on to other and younger people.

You continue too hear these news reports of employers not able to find people to work. There is a little truth and lies in everything, Companies have the expectation that you should work for pennies in low level positions and other organizations are reluctant to hire someone with many years of experience and skills, because they want a cheap labor pool and are less likely to hire someone who commands the rightful compensation.. Also, ageism is a huge underlying issue that must be addressed as a real and tangible issue in the workforce more than anytime in our history in the labor market. People want to work for a living wage and not have to struggle while working, its not enough anymore to just be satisfied with having a job.
