Are you able to pass a background check?

When applying for positions that ask this question, it is often left with 2 options to choose from. Yes or No. What I really want to put, if the option were available, in a comment box is; "What are your passing qualifications?" Or is it just assumed that it must be "free and clear" of anything current? Does it include past/expunged? I am ok with the question "have you ever been convicted of a felony?" because that is a definite "NO". I have been instructed by several friends and past colleagues to just answer "yes" instead. Is that frowned upon later? #jobsearch #advice #felony #wordsofadvice

do a background check on yourself, see what is out there and use that as your guiding light, if you find nothing wrong then they will more than likely find nothing wrong, so this should be a positive!

when going for a position that asks this question answer the question to the best of your ability. Hiring managers will ask more detailed questions during your interview.

Can you recommend a creditable company that individuals can get background checks done on themselves affordably? One that would show the same info that an employer sees? I klnow places to get general info on myself but not how to get the same report an employer gets on myself. Thank you

If your record has been expunged then I would let them know that. If the charges were for something horrible there’s no promise that they will hire you. There are many excuses employers use to not hire someone. Good luck!

Yes and No are answers to an Interrogation, not an Interview, know the difference, or buy a bigger jar of lube..
