Need some inspiration
My job has been becoming more and more taxing. I’m just not sure what to do with it anymore. I feel like every day is the exact same, and think I need some help. Can anyone share some inspiration they go to when they need to find their creativity again?

Remember!
Here's a great quote from Steve Martin :D

Some Muhammed Ali quotes to start the day...
Liked this when I saw it this morn, thought I'd share... https://www.facebook.com/Esquire/videos/10153559494791674/

Try to find the positive
I love this little quote about always trying to find something positive. It's always there, even if it's small. This can change your whole outlook on things.

CARPE DIEM!!!
It's a beautiful day! Make this one yours! Make it special.
Work harder, lover deeper, play, laugh, learn.
I'm tired of the horrible news. Its a reminder that life can be unexpectedly short and that I believe we have more control on our enjoyment and productivity in the time we have than most people realize. I love this quote from a great actor in a great movie.
so.. SEIZE THE DAY!!! - in whatever way satisfies you most!!....

Never forget what you are working for!
My father, an insurance agent in Ohio, was a man who woke before the sun and came home far after it set on most days to try to provide for his family. But he had a great mentor who told him to "never forget what you are working for". In my Dad's case, this was his family. He never missed a game, a show, or anything else his kids thought important. I think that focus on "WHY" is important to carry us through challenging times in our worklives.
At Jobcase I have a couple: 1) like my father, I too am working for my kids and 2) like every other employee of Jobcase - I feel a tremendous commitment to the mission of empowering working folks in the USA (and eventually Globally). Its not easy out there and its getting tougher - but if we have a platform that can provide real-time on-demand connections where people help people, where info is curated without clutter, and tools make managing our worklives better organized, free and openly accessible - then we can all have MUCH higher chance of succeeding in our work - for whatever we are working for. These 2 missions drive me to also be in before the sun rises and often return home much after it sets. And it definitely gets me through the plethora of tough times that the entrepreneurial road brings.
Those are my 2. What are yours? What are you working for?? And do you find it the proper source of motivation to get through the tough times, and to enjoy the good times all the more?

An Oldie but a Goodie about what success looks like..
Yup....

Keep on trying....
I saw this infographic on Angry Birds today and wanted to share it. I don't know if its true, but suspect it is! Tenacity, never giving up, is a big part of success! Good luck being tenacious today!!! Fred

Best advice ever given to Tony Robbins...
I recently read an interview with Tony Robbins (I confess to not knowing much of his motivational programs but I do admire that he has accomplished a lot in his life and that he seems to have many people of all stripes that credit him with helping them in theirs). Anyways, I thought his answer to be pretty thoughtful - check it out...
Tony Robbins on best piece of advice he's been given "That’s a tough question because my life is constantly about getting advice from the best in the world. But if I had to narrow it down, I would say two pieces of advice. #1 [comes from] my original mentor, Jim Rohn. He taught me that the secret to life is to find a way to do more for others than anyone else is doing. If you want to be extraordinary as a friend or business person, as a father or a lover, find a way to add more value — especially to those you love the most. I’m obsessed by this focus, and I really believe it’s the secret to not only wealth, but real lasting happiness. In my soul I believe the secret to living is giving. The second piece of advice came from a man who at the time was the richest man in Canada — a brilliant businessman, billionaire, and entrepreneur. He taught me that proximity is power. He told me at the time that if I wanted to make a movie, it would be easy because I had so many clients who were producers, actors, and heads of studios; I’m around them all the time. In fact, they put me in a dozen movies at that time, without my even asking, because I was in their proximity. He said, “If you wanted to make a deal at IBM, you could probably make it work, but it would be a lot harder because you’re not in proximity.” In order to get my financial goals, he taught me to get in proximity with investment bankers. Two years later, I made a deal that was worth $400 million to me, taking a company public! Proximity is power — remember it, apply it. It will change your life." -source: producthunt #motivationmonday #tonyrobbins #advice #proximityispower

It's never easy....
I've been getting some messages from a few Jobcasers that are frustrated that we, or others, aren't able to just get them a job right away. It troubles me deeply that so many people in this country are having a tough time of it in their worklife. One of the many things this Jobcase platform can help with is to give tools, aggregate best jobs and refine search/matching algorithms behind it, and provide connections that can make a job search easier. But... Heres the thing.... Its still going to be hard. And, at the end of the day, each of us have to bear the heavy load ourselves at getting it done.
This is actually a very cool thought when you think about it. It means each of us are in the most powerful position to change our own situations (should that be desired). It may be hard, it sometimes may take longer than we'd like, but a bit of planning and a lot of hard work and it can always get done in the end. I commit that the entire team at Jobcase will continue working everyday to try and make it easier, more fun, more rewarding, and more empowering for Jobcasers to manage their worklives- but at the end of the day the real magic is going to come from within.
One last thought - it reminds me of a parable/joke about faith (whether you are a person of faith or an agnostic/atheistic person I think the concept of this joke is relevant so bear with me..). An old man sits on top of his roof after a HUGE Katrina style flood. Waters are up to roofs. There is no food or clean water. And the sun is scorching down. He prays and prays to God to be saved. A small boat comes by and the lady rowing it asks if h'e like to climb down and into her boat. He says "no, the Lord will take care of me". A day later another boat comes by helmed by a teenager. Same question, to which he replies the same answer "no, the Lord will come save me". Finally, a news helicopter screams from a megaphone that they will hover for him to climb in to which _ you guessed it - he says "no, the Lord save me". A couple days later the Sun wins and the old man dies. Being a good man his soul rises to heaven and he meets God. He can't help but to complain: "God, why didn't you save me? I prayed and prayed". To which God, of course replies, "What do you mean? I sent 2 boats and a Helicopter!". Ok - so thats kindofa faith parable I heard in Church once, but as promised - the message applies. There are a TON of resources and people in this country that are standing by to help - but at the end of the day, I have usually found in my own life that the operative word is "help" and that the main thing thats needed - is to make sure that we roll up our own sleeves, prepare for hard work and resistance and forge ahead with our own efforts driving the way. Good luck - Jobcasers stand by each other, certainly the Jobcase Cambridge team stands with you, we are striving for you, and we look forward to this community making you stronger and more successful. And we can't wait to hear back the stories of success that you forge from the strength of this platform and other resources you find of use. Fred #inspiration #strengthlieswithin
