It's never easy....

I've been getting some messages from a few Jobcasers that are frustrated that we, or others, aren't able to just get them a job right away. It troubles me deeply that so many people in this country are having a tough time of it in their worklife. One of the many things this Jobcase platform can help with is to give tools, aggregate best jobs and refine search/matching algorithms behind it, and provide connections that can make a job search easier. But... Heres the thing.... Its still going to be hard. And, at the end of the day, each of us have to bear the heavy load ourselves at getting it done.
This is actually a very cool thought when you think about it. It means each of us are in the most powerful position to change our own situations (should that be desired). It may be hard, it sometimes may take longer than we'd like, but a bit of planning and a lot of hard work and it can always get done in the end. I commit that the entire team at Jobcase will continue working everyday to try and make it easier, more fun, more rewarding, and more empowering for Jobcasers to manage their worklives- but at the end of the day the real magic is going to come from within.

One last thought - it reminds me of a parable/joke about faith (whether you are a person of faith or an agnostic/atheistic person I think the concept of this joke is relevant so bear with me..). An old man sits on top of his roof after a HUGE Katrina style flood. Waters are up to roofs. There is no food or clean water. And the sun is scorching down. He prays and prays to God to be saved. A small boat comes by and the lady rowing it asks if h'e like to climb down and into her boat. He says "no, the Lord will take care of me". A day later another boat comes by helmed by a teenager. Same question, to which he replies the same answer "no, the Lord will come save me". Finally, a news helicopter screams from a megaphone that they will hover for him to climb in to which _ you guessed it - he says "no, the Lord save me". A couple days later the Sun wins and the old man dies. Being a good man his soul rises to heaven and he meets God. He can't help but to complain: "God, why didn't you save me? I prayed and prayed". To which God, of course replies, "What do you mean? I sent 2 boats and a Helicopter!". Ok - so thats kindofa faith parable I heard in Church once, but as promised - the message applies. There are a TON of resources and people in this country that are standing by to help - but at the end of the day, I have usually found in my own life that the operative word is "help" and that the main thing thats needed - is to make sure that we roll up our own sleeves, prepare for hard work and resistance and forge ahead with our own efforts driving the way. Good luck - Jobcasers stand by each other, certainly the Jobcase Cambridge team stands with you, we are striving for you, and we look forward to this community making you stronger and more successful. And we can't wait to hear back the stories of success that you forge from the strength of this platform and other resources you find of use. Fred #inspiration #strengthlieswithin
