Hello community, I hope this messages finds you both physically and spiritually healthy. I wanted to write about opportunity and how it can be hidden if we aren't mentally ready to receive. I also have a fun activity to drive my point home.

A lot of times we can miss opportunities to improve our situation because the signs pointing to that path are hidden to our current mental state.

Try this, after reading these instructions please look at the picture I've attached for about 15 seconds. During that time try to count all the BROWN DOTS? Take your time and focus so you don't mis-count any of the BROWN DOTS. Don't cheat by looking down for the answer READY GO!!!!! .. .. .. .. .. . ... ... ... Okay, now that you've looked at the picture for 15 seconds and counted the brown dots. Can you tell me how many Green Triangles are in the picture????

You probably have no clue because thats not where you were focused. Let's say those brown circles are your normal career path and everyday you seek to find a role in the that field. However the green triangles are staring at you daily calling your attention to another blessed path and potential opportunity.

To close this out like always, I want to leave you with action steps. Here are 2 tips to opening up to more opportunity in your life.

1.Stay rigid on the goals and loose on the path to the goal.

We usually think in a linear order however the world doesn't always work in that order. There have been times in my life where I had to overcome a challenge and the last piece of the needed info came first, I didn't know what to do with that info. Later piece 1 came and then the second part to complete my understanding. Because I was opening to noticing the sign although It wasn''t the complete puzzle it opened me up to more awareness for opportunity later.

2. Alternate you job search criteria from time to time.

If you have been seeking work for a while you likely know all the companies that are hiring, all the players in the field and have beat every bush in your area. To find more opportunity search for roles that fit your personality and skill set but may be different from what you have done before. It's helpful to have a few different resumes. For example I have a sales background prior to my focus on training and leadership. When I decided to leave sales I created a training resume that flipped my sales experience to the focus of customer support and helping team members grow. Same resume but now a different look for a different field.
