@ Adz, first call the employer back, then ask to speak to the hiring manager and ask him/her if they are still interviewing, then tell them you are still interested in the open position and restate your qualifications as to why you think that you are the best one for the job.

Email the hiring manager or the person you interviewed with …thanking them for the opportunity to speak with them regarding the position and ask for an update on their plans for the position.

As a previous hiring manager, it was always a good look, in my opinion, and made a candidate stand out when they had emailed the same day of the application, a few hours after to confirm that it’s been received. Typically, they’d let me know that they felt like it was a good fit and that they were excited to hear back from me soon about the next steps. It showed me the candidate was serious about their application and created a bit more sense of urgency in wanting to get back with them, if I also felt like it was a good fit. I personally, didn’t like the calls daily though. Hiring managers, most of the time, also have other daily tasks and random responsibilities that pop up that they also must complete. So patience is also appreciated. Hope this helps!
