There is so much advice out there about what job seekers need to do to please every person they come across.

Forget it.

Understand that not every position or hiring manager or company is going to be the right fit for you…and that’s just fine.

Do what is in your control and just be your best professional self when interviewing. Be prepared, be engaging, and show interest in the company and the role.

If someone at a company doesn’t “like” what they see, then great! You would rather know that before starting at a new company than after a few months.

As a job seeker, you’re looking for one good fit, not 100. The right company will value you just as you are.
